Personality:
  • MBTI Type: INFJ
  • Love Languages: Quality time, words of affirmation, physical touch
  • Painfully shy; socializing exhausts her
  • Socially awkward, but not inept
  • Has depression, autism, and anxiety. She sticks to a certain daily routine on the dot and gets upset whenever it deviates without prior knowledge.  She can go off on melancholic tangents on a whim. Her emotions can run a little intense and has an unusually strong sense of justice.
  • Will avoid large crowds when necessary
  • Can be incredibly sweet once you get to know her
  • Altruistic
  • Extremely private
  • Two-faced; bottles up emotions very well, but ends up breaking down at some point. It’ll take a special person for her to open up.

  • Hella creative
  • Musician; has perfect pitch as a result of her autism (hypersensitive hearing) - plays flute, piccolo, piano, and electric bass. Primary instrument is flute.
  • Daydreams frequently
  • Modest and soft-spoken
  • Autonomous and meticulous; she'd rather spend an entire day on the farm by herself than go out on the town. That doesn't mean she doesn't enjoy company, though. She'll work around the clock without stopping and not realize her own exhaustion.
  • Hates conflicts, doesn't do well with confrontation.
  • Perfectionist to a fault
  • Dry sense of humor, expresses humor with a straight face. Also into dark and self-deprecating humor.
  • Insomniac; has trouble sleeping and getting up in the mornings depending on what she did previously.
  • Slight case of body dysmorphia; hates her “small, saggy, juiceless lemons on her chest”, short torso, and “broken stick arms”. Feels very unattractive because of this.
  • She can be extremely hard on herself in general.
  • An old soul; she knows more than most people her age and finds joy in nostalgic things even before she was born. Her wisdom proceeds her youthful appearance.
Fears:
  • Claustrophobic, especially in crowds

Friends:
  • Leah - first friend since coming to Stardew alongside Elliott. They hit it off as art was a core subject they had in common.
  • Linus - the outcast who lives in the mountains. Cat made sure to provide food and supplies to Linus whenever she can.
  • Emily - fast friendship, helped Cat connect with Haley.
  • Haley - Emily's sister, rude at first but warmed up to Cat and ultimately moved by her kindness.
  • Sam - Kent and Jodi's first son and Vincent’s older brother. Cat and Sam bond over music and helped write his first single. SPOILER: In Sam's 8-heart event, Sam invites Cat to sing on stage after hearing her sing karaoke at the saloon prior to his first gig.
  • Sebastian - Robin's son, Demetrius' step-son, Maru's half-brother. Cat takes an interest in Sebastian's programming work and also plays the Solarion Chronicles tabletop game with him and Sam (she plays the healer role).
  • Maru - Robin and Demetrius' daughter, Sebastian's half-sister. Cat takes an interest in Maru's projects and provides whatever materials she could need.
  • Abigail - Caroline and Pierre's daughter, although heavily implied that she is an illegitimate child of her mother and the local wizard. Cat and Abigail bond over video games.
  • Willy - local fisherman/shop owner. Another close friend of Grayson. Cat affectionately calls him 'Uncle Willy' as she did in her childhood.
  • Penny - Pam’s daughter who tutors Jas & Vincent. Will sometimes ask Cat for extra help with educating the kids.
  • Jas & Vincent - Shane’s niece and Sam’s younger brother respectively. Cat was indifferent towards the kiddos at first, but after helping Penny with their studies she put in some effort to connect with the kids to the point where she simply adores them.
  • Lewis - mayor of Pelican Town and close friends with Cat's grandfather. Lewis would share his memories of Grayson with Cat. After Lewis showed her the community center, Cat started seeing things to which brought Lewis some concerns. Meanwhile, Lewis knew Cat would contribute greatly to the town just as Grayson did.
  • Marnie - Shane’s aunt who provides supplies for Cat’s farm when necessary.
  • Kent - Jodi’s husband and father of Sam and Vincent. After coming home from the war, Cat made sure to help this soldier feel more at ease as he gets back into his normal groove, although Kent remains formal with her. Cat always made sure that his service was well appreciated for she was brought up to respect those who served in the military.
  • Rasmodius - the local wizard who foresaw Cat's arrival to Stardew Valley. He sensed something special within her. Has a very complicated situation where one of the villagers could be his daughter...
  • The Junimos - Forest spirits who help Cat restore Stardew to its former glory. Once the community center is restored, the Junimos return to the spirit world...that is, until the Joja Mart was abandoned where one lost Junimo couldn't make it home. After Cat sorted it out, the Junimos told her something good would soon come. SPOILER: After the Joja Mart was converted into a movie theater, Cat built up the courage to ask Elliott out on a movie date (she puts the tickets in the bouquet - how cute!)

Family:
  • Maylene (Mother) - Paralegal; works around the clock but always makes time for her daughter
  • Owen (Father) - IT Manager; once Cat got her hands on a computer on the farm, Owen would make sure his daughter stays in touch with her family
  • Luke (Brother) - Auto mechanic; calls his sister during his lunch breaks
  • Shay and Ashleigh (best friends/sisters; extended family is just as endearing as biological) - once her father got her computer set up, Shay and Ashleigh would often video chat with Cat.
  • Grayson (maternal grandfather) - after his passing, he left his farmland to his special granddaughter. He is buried on the farm and Cat decorates his tombstone regularly, switching out old withering flowers for new ones she grew herself. She later adds lights and a walkway leading up to the grave.
Romantic Interest: Elliott
  • Around the first day upon moving to the valley, Cat encountered a lone cabin on the beach unbeknownst someone was living there. She met Elliott while heading back to the farm and watched him go back to the cabin, noting that it was his privacy she needed to respect. She would often run into Elliott while running errands in town, sparking a curiosity in her. She would bring him gifts during this time. Eventually, Elliott trusted her enough to let her come visit him at his cabin anytime she wanted as he enjoyed her company.
  • The more time she spent with Elliott, the more she was aware of her feelings for him, which she'd document in her private diary. She often notes her insecurities about her appearance and self-worth, thinking very lowly of herself.
  • Elliott is perhaps the easiest person for her to connect with. Cat fully supports Elliott's endeavors as a writer for she aspires to be one herself, but farming has taken up most of her time. Cat would bring Elliott gifts to the cabin once he allows her to visit him there. She is perhaps the only one unfazed by Elliott's initial vanity and melodramatic personality. In fact, she's rather charmed by it, never thinking of him as arrogant. Somewhat pretentious, but in a good way.
  • SPOILER: In Sam’s 8-heart event, Cat is invited on stage for an impromptu vocal performance, which solidifies Elliott’s feelings towards her; seeing the duality of her personas is inspiring to witness - a local farmer who normally keeps to herself has this unique yet captivating stage presence and raw, unfiltered talent. After the performance, she goes back to being her normal, quiet self.
  • If something is troubling Cat, Elliott will pick up on it in a snap. Although Cat will dismiss her troubles, she can't fool Elliott like nothing is wrong.
  • Elliott actively encourages Cat to show interest in villagers who are initially shy, much to her delight as this was a key sign of trust and help her improve her social skills.
  • Cat adores Elliott’s pocket crab lol.
  • Shipping dynamics/tropes: Gentle tol/smol, protective boy x very shy girl with size difference (Elliott's about 6'1" compared to Cat's 5'3" lil booty XD), chill sweetie (E) x awkward cutie but secretly bada$$ (C), confident & adoring (E) x deserving of affection but easily flustered (C); awkwardly cute around each other, lovey-dovey (post 10-heart event)
  • SPOILER: Cat has a bit of an emotional breakdown in Elliott’s 10-heart event as she has never been kissed and never had reciprocated love before which almost causes her to fall off the boat!

Pre-Valley Background:

Cat pretty much had a normal life before coming to the valley, but what constitutes as normal varies from each and every person. Cat’s grandfather, Grayson, had a plot of land to his name when she was growing up, a farm known as Snowbell Farm. Her mother would often take her and her brother to the farm as children, but that’s all she could remember about Stardew Valley. Her grandfather was also a fisherman, and his stories would often include fishing for the legendary fish of the valley. Although he never caught one of them, he had a whale of a time (pun intended) with the friends that went with him nonetheless. Grayson also shared stories of sailing out to a nearby island and exploring the pirate’s cove to see the pirates that came around. Stardew Valley was bustling in Grayson’s glory days, it seemed.

Years later after graduating college, Cat worked a temporary job with her father at the company he worked for, Joja Inc. Even though she was a simple file clerk who worked hard and fast with time to spare, she suffered much emotional abuse from her father in the workplace and had no choice but to take it until her contract expired. However, it wasn't until her grandfather's untimely death that tore her asunder and spiraled into a seemingly endless depression. Since then, the family had fell into disarray. Later as her mother went through her father’s belongings, she found an envelope with a purple wax seal addressed to Cat. As she read through the letter, it turned out Cat inherited Snowbell Farm. Cat didn’t think of leaving home but she waited for the day for her contract to expire so she could set off on a new journey ahead of her. When that day finally came, her mother had a tough time letting her daughter go, but she knew she was ready to honor her grandfather's legacy...

Personal SDV Canon Changes:

  • Cat would spend about the first two years clearing the farm; she'll introduce herself on day 1 but then disappear to work on the farm.
  • Farmhouse has all the amenities - kitchen, two bathrooms, master bedroom, living room, and two open rooms. She's in the middle of decorating it to how she envisions it. She later adds in a nursery.
  • Farm has three fish ponds, two barns, two coops, three silos, a mill, greenhouse, and a work shed. She's working with Robin to have another shed built for leisure and maybe another fish pond.
  • Cat doesn't attend festivals until the third year. The only exceptions are the Stardew Valley Fair, the Festival of Ice, the Feast of the Winter Star, and the Night Market. Emily, Haley, and Leah would coax Cat to attend the Flower Dance and offer to do her hair and makeup with Emily making her a new dress.
  • The Junimos return to Cat's farm once a hut is built for them. They physically manifest themselves to her and she can pick them up; they are about the size of apples. They also love to play around as they work, ensuring Cat smiles on the daily. She is the only one that can see the Junimos, but once she is married her spouse will be able to see them as well. Cat places a diamond and an aquamarine in the two huts on her property, making the Junimos turn white and blue respectively.

Other Info:

  • Cat's wardrobe is mostly monochromatic blue (excluding neutrals); she has a few purple and green pieces somewhere although it's rare you'd catch her wearing those colors.
  • Cat didn't quite hit it off with Shane and Clint. Shane reminded her too much of her own brother and doesn't know much about Clint outside of being a blacksmith. Nevertheless, Cat makes an effort to connect with them to an extent.
  • Her favorite season is Winter even though crops can’t grow in this season.
  • Her horse, Camus, looks something like this. (I honestly wish you could change the horse’s appearance!)
  • Never set foot into the JojaMart that was there before restoring the Community Center, but she resented the company nonetheless.
  • Listens to music when working on the farm, puts on full performances to hype herself up; just don’t catch her halfway through or she will stop and stare at you until you go away.
  • In Elliott’s four-heart event, Gus will tease Cat as she looks too young to drink, much to her chagrin as she is of age which often comes as a shock. She has never touched a drop of alcohol until sharing a glass of wine with Elliott would be considered her first time drinking. Despite making wine herself, she seldom drinks it; only using wine for cooking.
  • Cat is indifferent towards Harvey, the town’s doctor. She believes more in the science behind natural remedies than conventional medicine which Harvey studied in med school, but doesn’t dismiss Harvey’s credibility as a doctor. She does find his passion for aviation interesting due to her grandfather’s work fixing airplane parts.
Notable quotes & phrases:

“Grandpa really loved this place and the people in it. I want to make him proud. I’m tired of being seen as a disgrace in this family. I’m gonna start by restoring his farm to its former glory.“ (Cat to her mother upon leaving for Stardew Valley)

”I never knew something like this could ever happen to me… I mean, look at me; childlike down to the bone and not exactly an ideal woman at first glance. Before coming to Pelican Town, I’ve dealt with too many creeps with ulterior motives that I gave up on the idea of ever being in a serious relationship because they all ruined it for me. I raised my standards so high that no one could ever meet them. I felt that I was better off alone. But, now…I’d never thought anyone would exceed my high expectations the way you did, which is seriously surprising. Every day when I see you, my heart catches in my chest and my stomach tickles like crazy; I guess that’s how much I enjoy your company. I wanted to spend my free time just getting to know you more - heck, I even shared my first drink with you which wasn’t exactly part of the deal. I’m sorry, I’m not used to feeling this way before. I’m not prepared for this - I’m just talking off the top of my head. I never thought that there would come a day where I would willingly give my heart to someone that I could genuinely fall in love with; someone that understands me to my very core just as much as I‘ve come to understand you on such a grand scale. Now that you’re in my life… now that there’s love in the air and in my very soul… my frozen heart has thawed, thanks to you…. *sniffles* You have a beautifully warm heart, Elli… so, this is what being in love feels like. *cries* ”  (Cat to Elliott in Elliott’s 10-heart event)

“Grandpa…I love you and miss you every day. I know it’s hard to do this whole farming thing by myself, but I know your presence is here on this stretch of land.  Everyone who thinks that I can’t do this should know that I’m not alone. Please guide me in rebuilding your farm…I just want to make you proud.” (Cat praying at her grandfather’s shrine)

“Am I imagining things? What were those little apple creatures?” (Cat’s first encounter with a Junimo)

”So, I have to help you all return home to the spirit world by completing your bundles? Okay, anything to get that Joja eyesore out of town.” (Cat communicating with the Junimos in the Community Center before restoration)

”Don’t worry, little one; I’ll help you get back home.” (Cat to the lost Junimo in the abandoned JojaMart after completing the community center)

****

”Ducky, can’t you tell? You’re pregnant.”

“Wrong animal, chief, but okay.” (Cat & Elliott’s 1st child dialogue)
