Nelson's Links
The same person on different planes; Nelson comes from the Material Plane and therefore has lived a much happier life. He ran from home when he was 16, shedding his Azagonian name and instead embracing the name of his human grandfather. He views Naxthurin with fear and pity; he sees what he could have become if he didn’t escape the clutch of his father and homeland.
The same person on different planes; Naxthurin comes from the Shadowfell and has had a much more difficult life. Magic is rare and much weaker in the Shadowfell, yet Naxthurin thrived as a dragon rider. He gave into his brutal nature, lacking the fierce independence and defiance Nelson has. He has embraced his Azagonian name, scoffing that they would ever think to name him after a mere human. He views Nelson with disgust; he’s a weakling who abandoned the way of his people. He’s an embarrassment that must be removed.
Nelson was immediately taken by Barth and wormed his way into the half-dwarf’s heart. He quickly found a companion with a heart and liver of gold, and the two spent time partying and adventuring together. Eventually Nelson acquiesced to his feelings and started dating Barth. The two are now married and living on Barth’s family farm with Kef’s daughter Tahlia, although they leave often to go on another adventure.
Initially jealous of Nelson‘s friendship with Kef, Barth quickly became charmed by the laissez-faire tiefling. The two circled around their feelings for a while before finally getting together. They’re now married and helping to take care of/raise Kef’s ill daughter Tahlia. When they’re not helping his family take care of her, the two are off on another adventure together.
When Nelson was about 19, he was murdered. As he lay dying, the ex-Bel Xul Sanguine approached him with a deal: if Nelson became his warlock, he would save Nelson’s life. Nelson agreed, but died as the pact was being finalized. Sanguine resurrected him, and Nelson officially became a Warlock of Sanguine. He had accidentally signed a pact with the perfect warlock for him- the God of Earthly Vices loved Nelson’s affinity towards too much drink, and encouraged the tiefling to continue his drunken ways. Nelson delights in Sanguine’s chaotic ways, and his favorite adventures are the ones where he wakes up in a strange place with a handful of his friends and a cheeky message from Sanguine.
Nelson’s patron and an ex-Bel Xul. He found a young Nelson as he was dying. Seeing an opportunity to piss off the Bel Xul, he made a pact with Nelson, resurrecting him and taking him under his wing. The two were a perfect match- Nelson loved partying, drinks, and sex, and the God of Earthly Vices was glad to find a warlock so similar in attitude to him. Sanguine loves messing around with Nelson and his companions, and often pulls them from plane to plane for tomfoolery and adventures.
