Dr. Jason Cunningham is infamous pathologist with an alleged "terminal" illness.

Origin Story (under Construction)

Jason was born as the first child of Jack and Wendy Cunningham. His little brother, Sebastian, was born with an illness that grew progressively worse over time. Jason found himself regularly using unconventional methods to try to help his brother feel better, but most of his attempts turned up fruitless. After Sebastian had passed away, Jason grew devastated and threw himself into studies about illnesses with hopes of finding a cure to what killed Sebastian. During a visit to the library, he found a ripped page with a passage that promised he could resurrect the dead. It became Jason's new obsession, and he would visit his brother's grave every night, hoping to complete the incantation. His parents grew weary of his interest in his brother's death and threatened to commit him to the psych ward if he continued visiting his brother so often. In an attempt to get them off his back, he promised he wouldn't go to see Sebastian's resting place-- or at least, not as often.

After finally deciphering the passage he found on the ripped page, Jason summoned a mysterious goddess who called itself "The Lady Karma." The spirit promised the lad he could revive his brother, just like the passage said. All he'd have to do is consume her blood. The boy reluctantly accepted, but it turns out her blood carried the horrible soul of a sentient virus. Jason was possessed by Corruption (in its weakened state), who urged him to visit his brother one last time. While visiting his brother's grave, he fell ill and vomited a living black substance (which he later discovered was his "Venom") onto the ground. It seeped into his brother's tomb and brought him back to life, though something was off about him. Jason was both horrified and ecstatic to see his brother. Perhaps this sickness he caught was the cure.
The Corruption realized that Jason was indeed the perfect host, and began 'bonding' with him. Jason soon became confused and unable to determine if his thoughts and desires were his own. It started eating away at him, but after a few more visits from his brother and the promiscuous goddess, he started confusing himself for the virus. In his confusion, Jason sacrificed his sleep for his interest in diseases and tried to drown himself in his studies. He began studying unnatural diseases, such as Psionic Syndrome and found himself at the forefront of the scientific community. However, that didn't come with much favorable attention. As prestigious as Jason was, the public accused him of grave-robbing and other such unethical practices. 

His parents disowned him and cast him out of his home. In his stupor, he didn't mind. To him, that gave him the opportunity to continue his studies. By the time he was 22, he had already attained a Doctorate's degree in Pathology. He still struggled to keep his sanity intact, however, as the virus that grew weaker began taking a toll on his mental health.

Jason is a confused scientist who honestly believes his sickness is the cure for all diseases. He's perverted in nature due to the Corruption's influence. He's a pacifist who has an amazing work ethic. Though silly, he is brilliant in what he does, though he winds up turning people into monsters. But it's an honest man's work.
