About

INCLUDES HEAVY OUTER WILDS SPOILERS, PLEASE DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU WISH TO PLAY THE GAME. A young explorer part of Outer Wilds Ventures, spends most of their days in the astrology lab or fixing the exiting crafts. They can normally be found on either the moon or playing their kalimba on Timber Hearth. Disappeared years before the protagonist came into the story, nobody still knows where they went and is considered a ghost story among the town. They had left on a mission with ones of the prototype ships, their mission to find another solar system to explore.

Later Life

Coal had actually been on the edge of death on their venture, they knew they would never be able to return home- brandishing a basic warp device that was stuck together from an old nomai text. Their ship floating silent in the dead of space, Coal had accepted their fate. They were found by the descendants of the Nomai, a better discovery that Coal had ever believed; it was a clan that was on a side mission to find a safe space to land. It was upon this mothership the Hearthian found out that universe was dying.

New life

Coal was renamed Gale on this ship, as they were accepted apart of the clan. They were unfortunately unable to go home, as finding their homeplanet was almost impossible without coordinates- which the Hearthian lacked.
