Akiko Koizumi

Akiko was born into a family of Farmers. Her mother was a native form Kanto named Aiko and her father actually came from the Kalos region and his name was Haru. Haru was a rather famous adventure and wild life photographer. He made his living traveling around with his pokemon companions and capturing rather unique and inspiring pictures around the different Pokemon regions. Her mother had a completely opposite upbringing. Where her father traveled starting at a young age, her mother was born a farmer's daughter. The had a rather large range not far from Viridian City and raised all sorts of Pokemon there. From Ponyta, Milktank, and more. They had all sorts of services including some Pokemon breeding. The two met, fell in love, and somehow Haru settled down.

And that's how Akiko came into the picture. She has a younger sister named Atsuko whom was sort of a surprise to both of her parents. There's a whooping 8 year difference between the two girls, but somehow they manage to get along. Most of the time anyway. Akiko grew up on the farm, playing with the pokemon, feeding them, and occasionally sneaking off to take naps with them out in the fields. At a very young age she learned to love pokemon and took a strong interest in competitive racing with her family's Ponyta. So her days went by tending to the pokemon happily, training with their Ponyta, trying to shake Atsuko, or listening to her father's tales of adventure.

As much as she enjoyed racing, she loved in more to listen to her father's stories. He incidentally ended up giving her a very strong desire to leave the farm one day and travel herself. She would sometimes take small trips into the towns and would watch pokemon contests on competitions on the tv. She read all the latest magazines and would often to research into just who had taken the pictures. One day, she even picked up her father's old camera and spent the day wandering around the farm snapping pictures of the pokemon there.
