Axis was a prince who was first in line to inherit the throne. As a contract between his kingdom and a neighboring tribe, he was made to marry Erosia, luckily the 2 were in love before the wedding contract.
Axis was born with a lot of health defects; he was born blind, sickly, and was paralyzed at birth. When all seems hopeless for Axis to survive infancy, a gift from a neighboring kingdom brought a miracle: advanced technology in the form of a simple brain microchip. The microchip was implanted into Axis and gave him new eyes (hence his strange eyes color) and the advanced microchip was adaptive, so it could grow and implant itself into his spinal cord, thus helping him eventually be able to walk.
It seemed like a miracle...until the side-effects of the brain chip became evident:
Months before his wedding, Axis' brain chip got a "virus" and made Axis go insane, causing him to go berserk and destroy his kingdom, friends, subjects, and family alike.
When Axis is on "virus-mode" he becomes a being whose sole purpose is to kill and destroy; the fact that he gains super-human strength when he's berserk makes it impossible to contain him.
However, when Axis is normal, he's extremely kind and generous. He has a stutter and has anxiety and panic attack issues. His normally gentle personality is always in constant battle with his "virus" and the two personalities are always battling for control on his body, which can be extremely taxing on Axis' sanity.
To make things worse, the virus is always adapting, making it harder to control and almost impossible to remove. The virus can take over Axis unexpectedly and for different intervals; sometimes for a few minutes to many months.
