- Although he betrayed Sunslammer, he did genuinely love her, ever since they were young.
- During the early years of the Citadel, Glory Spiral was still close to Starburst, but not Sunslammer. It was Starburst's idea to try to kill Sunslammer.
- After a couple of decades out in the wastes, Glory has gone a bit mad, and no longer remembers his name.
- His blighted form is Sovereign Spiral.
Glory Spiral is Dawnbright's father, an old friend of Sunbow and Starburst's. After Sunbow was blighted, becoming Sunslammer, and Deutoria was darkened, Glory Spiral became a part of a small division of ponies seeking to assassinate her. When Sunslammer discovered that despite their apparent romance and passion, Glory Spiral was trying to kill her, she should have had him killed--but could not bring herself to do it, and instead had him banished in the wastes. Glory was considered as good as dead, but would eventually resurface, several decades later.
By the time Glitter Bomb and her companions happen upon Glory Spiral, he's lost all memory of who he used to be. He eventually recovers his memories upon seeing Dawnbreaker, the shock of which causes him to instinctively cast a spell and become blighted himself.
