Toffee the Chipmunk, Sonic Facade

Toffee the Chipmunk (トフエエ・ザ・チプムンク) is a fan-character created to be a semi-recurring character from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. She is an anthropomorphic chipmunk with a fierce rivalry to Sonic the Hedgehog. She is a self-proclaimed protector of the planet and it's eco system from the destruction caused by humans.

Years ago, Toffee was the primary antagonist to Dr. Robotnick, until she was felled to one of his experimental weapons. After decades, and becoming a distant memory, Eggman thought to repair and reuse the weapon's success on Sonic, inadvertently freeing Toffee from her Time Prison. Once free, Toffee sprang back into action, believing the differences and changes of the world surrounding her to be an indicator that she had been teleported to another dimension.

Initially, she sets out to aid the like-minded Sonic, however when Toffee comes to the realisation that this is her own world afterall, she becomes furious that Sonic would call himself a hero, while letting her world come to such destruction under his watch. She decides to take matters into her own hands... and she doesn't believe in half-measures!

Appearance

Toffee is a slim anthropomorphic chipmunk with a mixture of tan and brown fur covering her body, a tail around 1/3 her body's size, and a yellow ring around her back and tail. She had brown skin that covers her inner ears and muzzle, and a dark brown small nose. She has sharp eyes, often with lowered lids, and no visible eyelashes. She has 1 upward turned spike on her head, as well as 3 curlled tuffs covering her cheeks on either side of her head.

For attire, she wears a crop top and shorts both with a fur lining around her neck and legs. Her gloves also have a fur lining. Her boots are a brown and gold mix, with the gold accent in the shape of a cross filling up her boots. Her boot's are rimmed with a tan heel, underneath showing a gel platform heels in dark brown.

Personality

Toffee is stubborn to a fault. She is entirely self assured, rarely showing any self doubt or insecurity.

Even if her logic is flawed, she’s talented at defending and justifying her stance. Often coming off as confrontational because of this.

When it comes to the environment and fighting Eggman, she’s as serious as they come. Toffee won’t make many quips or jokes, being matter-of-fact and straight to the point. She tends to get a bit irritated when other people take the time to quip about something so serious.

Toffee's not very open about herself. She views her own mortality and how she’s viewed by others as second to her cause. This often makes her seem impersonal and occasionally causes her to use people for her goals.

She finds people who don’t take the fight as serious as disingenuous and insulting, adding to how confrontational she is.

When it doesn’t come to fights she views as important, she can be a bit of a trickster, enjoying to subtly taunt people and having a smug attitude.

As time goes on, she mellows out. When it comes to friends - as rare as they are to come by for her - she is protective and single minded towards their well being.

She can be quite blunt.

Powers and Abilities

Toffee is a skilled fighter, honing her skills through years of battles. She lacks when it comes to speed, but her quick wit make her able to trip up or avoid situations where she is at a disadvantage
Her greatest strength is her digging ability, which she can use to gain speed or to attack. She is able to use the momentum of add power to her attacks and surprise her enemies.
If Toffee is preoccupied with a personal goal, she will avoid fighting and use her digging to getaway.
Due to her stubbornness, when she wants to fight, she will. She can be very sturdy, able to keep going beyond her limit when she truly puts her mind to it, although that is a rare circumstance.

Equipment

Toffee tends to rely on her hands for combat. She sees weapons as an unnecessary "human" thing, and has such a dislike for technology.

She wears 3" platform gel heels that protect her from impact when digging or falling. They, however, make her grinding speed slower than average.

Transformations

Sticky Toffee

By harnessing the power of the seven Chaos Emeralds, Toffee can enter a Super State, transforming her into Sticky Toffee. In this form, all her abilities surpass her normal ones. She is also able to fly and is nearly invulnerable. In this form her digging abilities can piece through nearly anything. However, this transformation consumes a lot of energy and cannot be maintained for long. When she is in this super form, she is able to go head-to-head with Sonic's own Super State.

Weakness

The primary weakness that Toffee encounters tends to be her own personality and the conflict she causes for herself. She tends to over do it. When it comes to her physical abilities, though she may attempt to over compensate with quick thinking, her physical speed is much slower than that of much of the cast.

She has a high jump momentum, but despite her vertical movement, she tends to fall a lot faster than most.

Relationships

Toffee's not particularly personable. Due to her goal-oriented single mindedness and her strong ideology, she can be a difficult person to get along with. Making her particularly antagonistic.

Sonic the Hedgehog

Given how Sonic treats others fairly and on face value, at first when they met the two got along. They seemed to be likely allies. They worked well together at first. But as time went on, their ideological differences, and Toffee's attitude made their short-lived friendship irreparable. Toffee finds his attitude and casual nature an insult to the gravity of the cause.
Toffee views Sonic as irresponsible, feeling betrayed that he would be the acting hero during her disappearance, and would never take the radical decision that was, in Toffee's view, necessary. She feels he needs a wake-up call, while Sonic deeply distrusts her. After Toffee turned against Sonic in the end of Sonic Facade, Sonic has made a stance to never fully trust her, even if part of him wants to believe everyone can change.

Much of the time they have the same end goal, but choose to go against it differently. Toffee will often accuse Sonic of getting in her way, to which Sonic feels the same. Toffee has an abnormal ability to get under Sonic's skin and infuriate him.

Toffee views Sonic as a well meaning idiot. She grows to resent him, feeling that he's a fake hero as he won't do what she believes needs to be done. Feeling he as an imitator of her goals and seeing the world as in a worse state than when she was around, believing him to be all show, no action.

Amy Rose

Amy and Toffee have a tenuous relationship. Amy's better nature sees hope in Toffee, while Toffee sees her as naive and frivolous, but still sees her as useful to her own ends.

Meeting at the start of Sonic Heroes: 2, Amy knew little of Toffee's spotted history with her friends, but saw a reason to ally with her against Eggman. Acting as a moral compass and team leader, Amy would do what she could to convince Toffee of the benefits to kindness.

Despite Toffee's conflicting nature, due to their allyship in Sonic Heroes 2 under Team Jubilee with Cream the Rabbit, Amy is often able to get in the ways of Toffee's plans. Toffee insists she's not needlessly tied down by friendships, yet she seems to struggle with fighting Amy, as a result she'll often back down or avoid Amy when Amy intervenes.

It seems Toffee has a soft spot for Amy, continuing to spend time with her outside of business, and despite her smugness, Toffee has put herself in harm's way to help Amy more than once since.

Cream the Rabbit

Having met briefly in Sonic: Facade, Cream is more aware of how Toffee can be tenacious. Cream is less willing to easily trust Toffee than Amy, showing wisdom beyond her age. Cream tends to lecture Toffee more than anyone else.
At the same time, Toffee's inner heroic nature shows more around Cream as she's reluctant to hold a child accountable for what she perceives as naivete. Cream often tries to convince Toffee that the mechanical characters can have a good nature and could be friends and allies, but this rarely affects Toffee's stubborn position. Sometimes how Toffee talks about Cream's robotic friends will make Cream angry and likely to lecture her, which always takes Toffee off guard
Cream has an uncanny way to get through to Toffee and fluster her, by easily rebutting her arguments with a child's simple logic; that saving the world is good, but if you're not saving the world for the people, then what are you saving it for?

Dr. Eggman

In the past, Toffee was Eggman's primary antagonist, a role since taken up by Sonic. At an undetermined point in the past, one of Eggman's inventions succeeded in stopping Toffee, which resulted in her disappearance.

While Eggman will goat and brag at Toffee for his previous victories against her, he seems more easily spooked by Toffee than Sonic due to her refusal to holdback, often retreating.

Despite all of Toffee's immoral behaviour, Toffee will always ally with Sonic against. Eggman.

Toffee knew Eggman just as "Robotnick", and as a result the nickname "Eggman", being invented by Sonic helped Toffee keep in her denial of per predicament. Once she hears about his nickname, however, she thinks its sufficiently offensive to use herself.

Miles "Tails" Prower

Initially, when Toffee emerged and helped Sonic, Tails was a friendly figure to her. She, much like Sonic, was impressed with Tails' technical knowhow. Through him being a grounding force, and asking him about their 'universe', it is through Tails that Toffee becomes aware of what had happened. When her plans change she says goodbye to him, and offers up the Chaos Emerald she found, before leaving with a warning that kids shouldn't get involved in War.

Tails considers Toffee as an enigma to understand, always feeling like she's keeping something to herself. She's able to get under his skin, making him doubt and wonder if she has a point about Sonic always letting Eggman go. While those doubts fester on his own, Sonic is always able to help him snap out of it.

Whenever Toffee becomes a definite ally, she's more often to work with Sonic through Tails.

Shadow the Hedgehog

For any similarities they might have had due to loss of time and a history of loss, Toffee rejected any kinship she could have had with Shadow by having complete disgust at him. When Shadow's existence as The Ultimate Lifeform is made clear to her, Toffee's most vile nature shows around robots and artificial life forms. She views Shadow as a mockery, normally depersonalizing him as 'Weapon'.

She finds artificial lifeforms disgusting and a fuel of her hatred of humans. In her mind, humans creating Mobians for their selfish gains, is all the more proof that humanity can't be trusted with this world. More so any Mobian that ally with G.U.N. are traitors in her eyes. She is in no ways pleasant to anyone like that, and Shadow is the epitome.

Toffee existed in a world where the incident surrounding the ARK was a fresh memory, with many conspiracy theories of Government involvement and something more going on, to which she subscribed to, mainly sue to her distrust of humanity. Her knowledge of this makes Shadow instantly someone to distrust.

Rouge the Bat

Rouge will easily be brought down to Toffee's level when Toffee insists on destroying Omega, and much like Toffee, she holds grudges. Rouge will often bicker and throw insults at Toffee to defend E-123 Omega and Shadow. Despite all this, Rouge has enough empathy to sometimes introspect and consider Toffee's perspective, viewing her as tragic.

E-123 Omega

They have little interaction, but Omega's presence brings out the worst in Toffee, where she'll needlessly pick fights and hurl insults at Omega. Omega's nature results in him barely being affected, but in order to protect himself from Toffee's insistence in destroying all of Eggman's robots, no matter the cost, she often causes fights.

Poppy the Robat

Toffee has a dislike for Eggman's robots, which is mostly cold and matter-of-fact, but for some reason the recent addition to Eggman's army, who dubs itself as Poppy, makes Toffee emotional. When she becomes aware of her predicament, she becomes heavily invested in destroying it.

Not much is known of Toffee's life before her reawakening, and she speaks little of her friends. It's heavily implied there was some kind of connection to her old friends.
