Althea

Althea is the leader of the Valley Vanguard, a group of Kirichu skilled in magic as well as physical strength who take it upon themselves to patrol the limits of The Valley for the benefit of all Kirichu who live there. Using their highly trained magical abilities and physical stamina, they patrol day and night in search of any threats or dangers to the Kirichu population and The Valley environment, whether that be an intrusive predator or disease that could harm the trees and other local animals.

Althea stores natural magic in her gem encrusted jewellery, and is a highly capable healer if the need arises. Althea is an intelligent, altruistic master of magic who will go to any length to protect her homeland. Most Kirichu look forward to her visits, as a chance to learn about current news in The Valley and the goings on of Kirichu many kilometers away. Althea always readily offers her assistance to those who need it, and will not hesitate to take on difficult or menial jobs if it will help her kin.

Though she is relatively young for her species, the experience she has gained on her continual travels have wizened her greatly and have given her the foresight to predict future issues, allowing time for thinking up solutions early on. The Valley Vanguard only accepts the most skilled and dedicated Kirichu into its ranks, but Althea is always happy to offer advice to those who seek to join but are not deemed ready for the task. Kirichu fawns across The Valley look up to her as an unofficial leader, and dotingly refer to her as Auntie Althea. She is also most often the key speaker and organizer of gatherings and festivals in Kirichu culture, and attracts a large audience wherever she goes.
