Story

Gū Hún was once a high priestess, dutied with serving her village to pass the will of their ruling god. A weak but loved god with the power of lightning on Their side. She carried out Their every will and served as a direct line of communication to the people. For her hardwork, she was gifted the ability to bend lightning to her will. A sign of her connection to their God. Gū Hún would care for her village for much of her younger years. Then a rumor arose. To the north of the village, there is a fearsome dragon who will lay waste to the land lest sacrifices are made for their protection. As the priestess, Gū Hún took it upon herself to journey Northward to seek this dragon and speak upon the will of her god and her people. When she had arrived to the dragon's den, she had met an unexpected sight. It indeed was a dragon of a light burgundy color. However, this dragon who had recently awoken from slumber was completely harmless, as it turns out. The rumors did no justice to the beast. Gū Hún would stay to speak to the lonely dragon, the two forming an unexpected connection. Then Gū Hún would return to her village with good news and a wonderful friend in tow. The dragon, Nedha, had agreed to lend the people her power should there come a day that they may need it. Rarely would the pair be seen without one another. The peaceful times, however, would not last.

Tensions among the gods begin to rise as a new party rises up high above Teyvat. Celestia, they called themselves. An alliance of gods who swore to change the world as they knew it. Gods that ascend to Celestia would have their names put down in history and rule for an eternity. There are only seven seats. It started with small battles between gods alone. Then the gods began to involve their people. Their weak god would not last long, as wars began to break out for the power of Celestia. A tyrant takes over as their self-proclaimed god. He would use His people as pawns in battle to destroy other gods. As the priestess whose loyalty remained with the late god, Gū Hún followed suit in the battle for their own freedom. A civil war. Then a new god would come into the scene. An almighty dragon god who ruled the land below them would lead them out of tyranny. He calls upon Gū Hún, the listener of the previous god, and would guide them in battle for their own freedom. Ever since being called upon by this rising god, Gū Hún would devote herself to the safety of the people. She took up a catalyst and used it to battle against the corrupted prior to the Archon War alongside Nedha. However, her battle would be short lived, as she would be slain towards the finale of the battle while fighting alongside a beloved dragon friend.

Her unconcious being was being carried off by Nedha when the dragon god would step in himself. The ground below them shook as a dragon of brilliant amber rose to the battle to defend the little village alongside a billowing phoenix. In the arrival of the gods, Nedha along with Gū Hún would be swallowed up by the ground, buried in the deepest depths of Liyue. This is where they would lose their life without ever seeing the freedom of the people they swore to defend. The war of gods was never meant for them.

Current

Millennia later, Gū Hún would awaken to a new world. A warm feeling engulfs her as the same sun above blinds her. She has reawoken as a spirit. How could this be? A spirit dies once it is forgotten. Gū Hún should have long since been forgotten. Someone has remembered her, thus reviving her being. Unknown to her, the truth is that in her previous life, she had surrounded herself with the presence of gods and dragons. This small bit of power left with her gives her a final chance to go on. Gū Hún roams modern Liyue for weeks, adorning her old cloaks, no longer stained in dirt and blood. She learns of the system in this new world. Of the archons, of the visions, of Rex Lapis. So he won after all. That's good. Her people lived safe lives in the end.

Being able to use an element without a vision is unusual, in this world. She has a replica made of an electro vision to shield her abilities while she travels around to seek an answer. Someone from long ago is still alive and remembers her. It cannot be Rex Lapis, for he is dead as well. So... who is it?

Trivia

Gū Hún's name comes from the chinese kanji Gū (孤) meaning alone or solitary, and Hún (魂) meaning spirit or soul. This makes her name approximate to "lonely spirit."

Her vision was given to her long before the current Electro archon had taken power. A gift from before the archon war had ended.

She originates from a northern Liyue land not long before the land had become Rex Lapis' territory. This land is now known as Qingce Village.

Nedha

friend

Once a friend from many centuries ago. They were once close before Gū Hún's death. Nedha was said to be the slumbering dragon of the north caves. Although she wasn't a god, she was still often revered and feared. This led to the village giving gifts and sacrifices. The job of the priestess was to fufill the will of the ruling god and her village. With the fear of the slumbering dragon, she would often have to give the sacrifices to Nedha. Upon one trip, it was fate that Nedha was awake and the two met. From there, she would become good friends with Nedha until Gū Hún's passing.

Zhongli

a familiar face

Gū Hún does not know this man. However, he seems awefully familiar. Similar to a man she had once met in her previous life. A descendant, perhaps?
