Appearance

Hutch is an average height man, possessing a somewhat stout appearance to him. He's often recognized by his exhausted appearance, possessing a frequent glazed appearance to his eyes and bags underneath, with crow's feet to top it off.

His casual outfit consists of varying-colored T-shirts with a denim jacket and pants. He wears a light blue jumpsuit for his work clothes. With both outfits he wears a pair of dark brown laced boots. He possesses two golden wedding bands; his own, which he still wears on his ring finger, and his deceased wife's, which he wears around his neck.

Design Notes
  • He has two wedding bands; one around his neck, which once belonged to his wife, and the other he still wears on his left ring finger.
  • A past of stress and struggle is beginning to finally get to him, with graying hairs starting to appear a bit prematurely, especially in his beard.

Personality

Hutch is often recognized by his state of perpetual tiredness and often a lack of acknowledgement toward his surroundings; a faraway expression not uncommon in his features. Because of this Hutch can come off as somewhat reserved or aloof. This is nonetheless one of many things Hutch is attempting to overcome, and when he's genuinely aware of his behavior then Hutch is, in truth, rather friendly and attentive to listen. But in spite of this, the ambience surrounding Hutch is always plagued by a sense of sorrow and melancholy.

Trivia
    • Used to very frequently drive and own multiple motorcycles. Doesn't ride as much now, as the older he's gotten the more cautious he's become about it, but he still has a few around and goes for joyrides on occasion. He possesses an old and nonfunctioning motorbike that he's has been passively working on for the past several years.
    • Rather musically inclined. Piano being likely his only other passion beyond his mechanics shop. Working on teaching his daughter to play.
    • Apprenticed under his step father as an auto-mechanic, who left his auto-repair shop to Hutch.
    • Has insomnia and is often in a state of perpetual tiredness. He'll often be seen with bags under his eyes. He's fairly caffeine resistant so coffee doesn't really help much unless he drinks a lot at once.

Story

"Tell me why I look back and I wanna cry;

Sometimes I feel like we grew up too fast."

EARLY LIFE

Hutch was born to Otto and Elise Fyre on April 30th of 1975, alongside his twin brother, Eyhn. The family resided in the USA, in a rural town in the northern midwest. The first several years of Hutch and Eyhn's lives were normal by society's standards: a typical nuclear family with a working father, a stay-at-home mother, and two children. Unfortunately, a month after Hutch and Eyhn's seventh birthday this standard shifted, and not for the better. Otto and Elise divorced due to complications in their relationship. Elise packed her belongings and moved away, taking the two boys with her.

Both Hutch and Eyhn suffered heavily from this occurrence; their father often vacant from their lives from that point onward. They both experienced mixed emotions on the matter, but Hutch's relationship with their father was rougher than that of Eyhn's, who felt much less conflicted about the man than Hutch did. Unfortunately while growing up the relationship of father and son never quite leveled out; Hutch remained embittered by his father for the years onward, yet still recognized his desire to grow closer, had their circumstances been better. Unfortunately for the both of them, Elise held a bias against Hutch and attempted to keep the boys away from their father more often than not.

Hutch's mental health slowly began to spiral more into his teenage years, very possibly contributed by the heavy vacancy of a father's influence. Hutch struggled to grow closer to others, including his own brother, and because of this the two seldom talked.

But this period of strife wasn't entirely absent of intimacy, as Hutch's best friend, Sylvia, whom he had known since childhood, was there with him every step of the way.

WIFE'S PASSING & AFTERMATH...

Eight years after Hutch and Sylvia married, Sylvia was very suddenly stricken with an illness that heavily debilitated her. This illness progressively worsened as time passed, to the point where Sylvia became bedridden in hospice for weeks at a time. Eventually both Hutch and Sylvia had to accept the fact that she simply wasn't going to get better.

Coming to this kind of acceptance was much harder on Hutch's side, who was plagued with denial. He couldn't imagine losing his beloved wife; the woman he had grown up beside and loved more than anything in the world. This eventually spiraled Hutch into one of the worst depressive episodes of his life. However, Sylvia, seeing the state of her husband, took him by the hand one day and made him promise that he would keep going; for her and their children.

Now, several years after Sylvia's passing, Hutch still upholds the promise he made to his wife on that day. The struggles he's bore for his entire life plague him still, but he remembers the hope that his beloved had extended to him and the lives of his children he must look after, and the home he will one day have with his wife and family, on the other side of eternity.

"Sometimes I sigh and think about the past;

But it's alright, cause everything changes."
