Bait is capable of standing on two feet like a little person. This is required to swing his hatchet.
Bait is not a pirate. He is covered with scars and is missing an eye due to a great battle in his past. He was once a swords master until he lost his eye, lacking depth perception he opted to use a hatchet.
Abilities
He can stand on two feet at will... otherwise he has no powers.
Personality
Bait is level headed, hardworking, and most of all honorable. He may fight dirty but he always keeps his word and is bound by duty. If duty says “go up and slay a dragon” then so be it, if duty says “charge off into a dark forest of horrors to find a wizard” then so be it. Bait has a bitter streak to him from how duty has used him and though bound by it he often speaks of it with disgust.
History
Bait is the regional captain of the guard. What region? We can't really say as it changes where he goes. He is known as a hero, and one of the most competent of guards. You may hire him to be your guard but he is no dirty cop. If you are committing crimes or doing actions he finds morally wrong here is your money back and now you are under arrest. Those who try to bribe him get a beating. This has given him a fairly dark reputation as unpredictable, at least to the unmoral, a trouble maker, and a dirty fighter.
Rumor says that once long ago he was a prince in a kingdom far away. Second born and doomed to always be in his pompous brother's shadow he left after saving the kingdom from a great evil, to vanish into the life of a civilian out in the bigger world. When asked about his eye and scars he simply gives you a long silent look and will mutter something about the darkness.
