Turnip | The Bestest Companion
Growing up with his beloved sibling, Ruta loved to jump around like a frog; even catching them to put them in his hat. The frogs spoke to him and gave him the title Earl of the Frogs. He named them Fennel after his favorite herb because they were his favorite person in the world. And they named him Rutabaga and calls him Neebs. He loves his name, but only Fennel can call him Neebs. From a very young age, Ruta developed strong magic that he likes to call "a guiding hand" that allows him to make intricate crafts despite being blind. The magic steadies his hand and his hands always seem to know what to do before he does himself. It is because of this that he created his first companion, a pebbling named Turnip. The three children spent every waking moment together playing in the mud, and Ruta would always carry them around in his hat. Later on in life, Ruta discovers his love for sewing. He makes Fennel's clothes all of the time and would sometime make some for himself. He even tried teaching Fennel and Turnip, the pebbling would later make his vest that he wears everywhere. He is super polite, albeit naive, and loves everyone and everything. However he grew up in a literal mud pit, so many social cues are lost on him and he could come off as abrasive as he won't take no for an answer and will not hesitate to tell you an ugly truth. One day, a slabster tells him of a great fabric shop owned by a seeker named Aisy. He drops by and becomes fast friends with the owner, eventually getting a job there as well! First step into society? You betcha. He soon meets Kymmie and Mei Mei and often babysits the little guide, teaching her how to catch frogs! He always goes to spend time with his beloved Fennel, even bringing them patients to work on. Overall, he is a frog at heart.
