Dr. Vera Donelle is a wickedly sharp and calculated woman who excels at what she does. She is an ingenius and bold researcher, but the nuances of social interaction are often lost on her. Her passionate nature can make her come off as eccentric and a bit insensitive at times. She enjoys the thrill of discovery above anything, and has a tendancy to succumb to obsession, focused moreso on the end result rather than the path needed to arrive there. She is insatiably curious and will do just about anything in the name of science. She is somewhat of a workaholic and often pushes her own limits. Dr. Donelle has a taste for indulging in the spontaneous, and dislikes having to follow a strict regimen unless it is her own. Her zealous nature can come off as chaotic, but she can be very disciplined, and keeps her workspace pristine. She primarily studies genetics and is currently mentoring a woman named Amanda Roisin.

Dr. Donelle is a tall, lean woman with a neatly trimmed, symmetrical haircut. Her eyes are a piercing shade of green and blue, and some would say they even appear oddly reptillian. Her skin is quite pale, and prominent veins visibly extend from her neck to her right arm and shoulder. She has a cut across her right lip and a faint mole on the left under her nose. Dr. Donelle's shapes are fairly angular and sharp, and even her ears and teeth seem to be slightly pointed. She prefers formal but functional wear, and typically dons whites, greys, and blacks.

In her feverish pursuit of discovery, Dr. Donelle is no stranger to testing her hypotheses directly on herself. One such test, a bold experimentation with genetics, proved to go haywire, catalyzing a drastic shift in her DNA. The mutation transformed her into a serpentine monster, which granted her powerful venom and increased her size and strength. She was able to reverse the effects and, more or less, become "human" again, but even brief exposure to triggering chemicals may cause her to turn once more.
