Beetle

A purebred ruddy Somali cat with brilliant green eyes. His eyes are large and almond-shaped, with thick lashes. His fur is soft as down feathers and absolutely immaculate; there is rarely ever a hair out of place. He sports a pink nose and pink pawpads, and compared to a Clan cat he is soft and lacking muscle. To consider him a physical threat is almost laughable.

Though he doesn’t flirt with everyone, if you pique his interest, expect him to lay it on thick

Beetle has to look “show-ready” aka Perfect, Always. While he doesn’t outwardly show it, he does get upset when it’s mussed up

-Delicate-
Beetle is the very definition of not being resilient. He wouldn’t last a second in a fight

-Secretive-
Beetle keeps many actual details about his origins and even his real name a secret. He only ever tells cats he trusts any of this

{Kithood}
Beetle was born to Lily and Kismet, a pair who wasn’t so much in love with each other so much as themselves. There had been talk about how beautiful their kittens would be if they had a litter, and, well…. Beetle and his siblings were born. Lily was a fine enough mother, making sure her kits were cared for. Kismet, when he wasn’t wooing other cats, made sure his ‘family’ was provided for. Beetle got along alright with his siblings, and he reveled in the stories the other alley cats would tell him when they would stop by and visit.

{Alley Cat Life}
As soon as her kits were weaned, Lily became much less doting on her kits. That’s the thing with alley cats; they’re raised communally. Everyone sort of looks out for each other and hopes for the best. Beetle roamed around back streets and near houses, sometimes with his siblings, sometimes without. He would often follow any strange new cat that wandered in, begging them for their life story. Honestly, it was a miracle he never got hurt, or worse.

Instead, it fostered his interest for stories even further, and when he came of age, he knew he couldn’t stay in the alleys one moment longer.

{Birth of the Storyteller}
At one year of age, Beetle set out from the alleys and decided to take on the world. He left his folks and siblings with a teary good-bye, promising to visit when he had a truly magnificent story to tell them. He often hangs around Twoleg places begging for scraps, but has been found in the wild, and is recently becoming bolder and bolder in search of a story.
