Folie's interactions with the world are characterised by his complete lack of understanding on how said world works. His amnesia is largely responsible for that, certainly, but equally responsible is Folie's own nature: gullible, trusting, oblivious. He struggles to comprehend complex thoughts and has a child-like understanding of others - often assuming they have no ill intention, only to later find himself manipulated at best and injured at worst. This had led to Folie becoming anxious and wary about strangers.
However, painful experiences have not fully erased Folie's optimism. He wants to believe others are kind, like himself, and it takes little to bring his guard down. Despite his general ineptitude in most things, Folie tries to help others as best he can - even without expecting anything in return. He is friendly but awkward, hence why Folie ends up spending most of his time alone.
The amnesia that haunts him also makes Folie amazed at rather mundane things. It takes little to intrigue him and discovering something new - especially about himself, though that is rare - makes him extremely happy. He yearns to feel included in society and winds up blaming himself for his shortcomings. However, despite the harshness of his existence, Folie has a genuinely positive, warm, energy about him. Untainted, in a way.

Nobody knows much about Folie, himself included. His earliest memories can be traced back to roughly two years ago, but as time goes on, Folie finds himself struggling to remember them. He just lives day by day and does his best to survive. The closest he has to a personal history are the various enemies he has made over the years - all due to his own stealing to survive. Folie developed a reputation as a thief and weirdo and has thus also come to be avoided by others.

- Suffers from retrograde amnesia and remembers nothing prior to two years ago - and his earliest memories from two years ago have started fading too
- Folie occasionally has small seizures that cause visual hallucinations
- Literate, which is surprising giving the fact he cannot remember ever learning to read or write
- Struggles to count (or do anything with numbers really), and his counting goes up to five, after which he estimates in tens (so Folie's counting would go 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 20, 30, etc.)
- Also struggles with directions. Broadly speaking, Folie struggles to envision three dimensional spaces
