Gilder Kivishedtul

Janus Geminus is a tidally locked planet, one half sun-scorched and one steeped in eternal frozen night. Among its many sapient species are two races of Dwarves, each sundered from their kin by millennia and an impassable world-spanning fungal forest, the Twilight Band.

Gilder Kivishedtûl, a Lunar Dwarf, rules the Midnight Bastion, a fortress deep in the Taphos Waste on Geminus's nightside where Sun is not even remembered as a legend. He is a legendary marksdwarf, a talented bookkeeper, a competent bonecarver and a dabbling biter (we don't talk about The Incident). He is a powerful stone-seer, having inherited the sorcerous talent of the Kivishedtûl family. Gilder lost two limbs in a battle against a biomechanical "dragon" (see: The Weavers), but this has not made him any less dangerous. He carries two artifacts: the iron and opal chestplate Strangecyclone, and the crossbow Blottedblood which was adapted for him post-injury by an artificer of Aren Solin. Like all his folk, he is exceptionally tolerant of temperature extremes and has superb night vision but struggles in bright light. He absolutely detests rats. He is currently ninety-seven years old, middle-aged, and unusually tall for a Dwarf at 4'11". 

A short, sturdy creature fond of drink and industry.
