Rusty is a big grumpy cargo plane who likes to watch trashy shows on TV and mix drinks for his buddies. He has been in the cargo business all his life and he usually likes it. Before the war he was over-worked by the Autobots, having no other use or meaning to his life than transporting items from one place to the other. He was known to be difficult to work with and it didn't make his life any easier in the Autobot society. When the rebellion started, he was one of the first to join the Decepticon cause, seeking revenge on those who had made his life a living hell for so long.

Rust has seen many battles over the years, both as a soldier and as a cargo transporter. He's part of a team that brings supplies to wherever they're needed, mostly energon and weapons. The team is lead by Astrotrain with whom Rust doesn't really get along, but he has no choice. He's generally not a very romantic or affectionate guy but recently another co-worker of his, Cloudsight, has caught his eye and warmed up his spark.
