Self proclaimed king of the Nekomata.
Nickname 'Charman' given by his friends.
He likes it very much since it almost sounds like 'charming'.
Haughty little cat boy who found a small crown in a well and believes it means he now rules over all of the Nekomata.
Nekomata (jap.): Forked Cat
These bakeneko are the most monstrous of the breed. They can not only summon fireballs and are known to kill humans, they can also use necromantic powers to raise dead bodies. They are malevolent and can grow to incredible sizes. The largest of them are the size of tigers or leopards, able to walk on their hindlegs. Nobody should attempt to befriend them unless they wish to suffer greatly as Nekomata are not to be trusted.
Charlemagne is a rather small example of his 'species' though he likes to appear taller and more dangerous than he truly is. If anything his attitude is larger than his body and he tries to make everybody believe that he's special among the Nekomata, that he is indeed one of the oldest, wisest and most powerful that ever lived. Since there are no other Nekomata around the mountain and forest where he lives, he managed to keep up that lie forquite a while. And after finding the tiny crown which had been looted from the palace of the king in the far away captial, he now believes himself even more to be a true king among his kind.
His friends know better though. While some are impressed by his attitude and self confident words, those who are closer to him know that he's a rather easily scared fellow who hates thunderstorms and rain. Latter mostly because he hates to feel his wet fur cling to his body and start to get that typical smell.
Charlemagne was a housecat on a farm in his former existence and a terrible mouse catcher. That's why the farmer tried to drown him which turned Charlemagne into a Nekomata. He later took revenge by burning the farm down but he was so terrible with his powers he ended up signing his own fur, which he hides under his clothing. The scar is still there though but he hopes nobody will ever find out.
