Area of Expertise

Pucks are naturals when it comes to shapeshifting. It's deep in their blood, an intuitive skill that, when practiced, is easily perfected by them. Pebble is a simple being, his love for pranks the main motive for him to shapeshift on daily basis. He's really proud of his ability and loves to show off his skills, by transforming one of his body parts or the whole form. It comes to him as naturally as breathing, no real knowledge behind his magic. As a creature that often helped in house chores, Pebble learned from his family a few basic cleaning spells as well as one or two magic pranks like spoiling milk quicker or making a clean space dusty again if some human mistreated the family of hobgoblins. He's not really using it too much after moving to Walpurgis, preferring to master his own pranks and do the cleaning by hand but he kept a small book of spells his mother gave him as a parting gift and sometimes practices it when alone to feel closer to his roots.

Abilities

SHAPESHIFTING - as a puck, Pebble has the ability to shapeshift into any organic/animal/creature form. He can manipulate the change to selected body parts or transform his whole form into another being. The obvious telltale that it's him are his whiskers, always present and the dark color of fur, feathers or scales coming from his original fairy form. He needs to study the animal beforehand he chooses to transform into it to make the shapeshifting possible. Luckily for him, it's mostly about observing how the animal moves and how it behaves. The puck genes make him understand the transformation part naturally.

BASIC HOUSE SPELLS - his family taught him some basic spells when it comes to cleaning the house or making small pranks on humans that seem to be ungrateful for the help they're given. It's mostly about making that always dirty spot on the tiles near chimney magically disappear or having the dough for pie always turn right. Pebble keeps the book of spells his mother gave him and sometimes practices them for the old times sake. It's nothing grand but helps to make home feel like, well a home.

Limitations

TIME AND SIZE - shapeshifting when doing new forms requires more energy, depending on how often the form is used, Pebble can be in it for more time. The size is also a huge factor, Pebble usually opts to changing his body but staying more or less in his humanoid size because the whole transformation process is less painful. For example, using his small fairy form for a long time and then changing into his usual persona is making his bones ache from the sudden grow. The same would happen if he wanted to be a small cat or mouse. After transformation like that he often gets muscle/bone aches and keeps whining for someone to gave him a massage.

GRANDER SPELLS - even if Pucks can use basic magic, it was never heard of one of them perfecting that art and making grander spells. And to be honest, every one of them seems to be perfectly fine with that. Pebble shares that mindset, his shapeshifting ability the only thing he truly needs. There just seems to be so much things to do, pastries to eat and pranks to execute on friends that the mere thought of sitting down to learn something more complicated seems like a waste of time.

Familiar

DUSTBALL - this adorable glob of black with two shiny eyes just randomly appeared in Pebble's life when he was still a small hobgoblin, living with his parents. They are almost inseparable now, wherever Pebble goes, it follows right after. Nobody really knows what it is, only that it seems to think that it's a cat. The blob stretches or shrinks, the black material it's build of is soft like a fur and the purrs coming from it's mouth (if it even has one) are just like the purrs of any house cat. If you ask Pebble how did he find Dustball it's more likely that he will tell you some bizarre story of how one of them saved other's life or how he's his twin brother who just forgot how to change back. The truth is, even Pebble himself isn't completely sure how Dustball found him and why he stayed.
