The only son of a noble and his wife, Nobu was raised to be open minded and wise about every situations. His entire upbringing
was meant to breed a leader that would one day take over the house once hes father is gone. It was successful, for the most
part. Leaving Nobu quite the responsible type. He cares deeply for his friends and his people. And is willing to do whatever it takes
to succeed his father in a worth fashion. Although, this leave him rather old fashion and misplaced among the more modern people
around him. But the prince is just as stubborn as he is caring.
► History, Species, Facts:
- Many mystical qualities and magical abilities were attributed to the mermaids of Japan. The Ningyo were believed to
cry tears of pearls, and it was thought that eternal youth and beauty would be imparted upon any human being who consumed a
mermaid’s flesh. This is true. And for Nobu this is what caused many dangers for his kind in the past. For many legends tell of
women eating the flesh of a Ningyo and miraculously ceasing to age, or reverting to a younger, more beautiful form. And those
who hoped for the same would hunt his people.
- Like many Japanese folkloric animals, merfolk were also said to have shape-shifting abilities. Mermaids taking on the
form of human beings. This is also true, as Nobu often takes human form and visits the city. Not so much for noble purposes. More
to just get a feel for how the world is changing around him and his people. Besides, have you seen what the kids are wearing
these days? And that television. Can't get that at the bottom of a lake.
- Nobuhiko was raised to be the 'king' of a small kingdom of merfolk that dwell within the Uisshu Lake for centuries. The
lake itself is only significantly known for having magical healing properties and for granting worthy wishes. Although it is nearly
impossible to locate by any normal means. Still many come baring wishes in the shape of tokens or coins. And if the wish is pure
enough, the royal family will turn their token into a flower and instruct the human how to harness the magic before the petals
completely fall apart. If they are unsuccessful: they turn into sea pearls.
- His best friend is a Kappa named Nanami. They met when Nobu and her were still very young. With no family of her
own. His family sort of adopted her as a ward of their house. And since then, she and Nobu have been extremely close to one
another. Although in recent years its starting to look more like a parent and child relationship. But if your best friend stole as many
cucumbers and butt souls from the humans as his did. You would be concerned too.
- Despite being born in the age of samurai, Nobu really does like a lot of modern things. He often goes to see movies or
goes to karaoke bars with Nanami. He's also gone to a couple of clubs in tokyo. He also has a great relationship with some of the
guardian spirits in the temples of Kyoto. All the while desperately trying to keep Nanami out of trouble.
