Profile
A young adventurer from Mondstadt who seems to have a knack for finding danger and an affinity for high places. Anselm loves collecting old things (particularly ancient weapons) and is well versed in ancient languages. The journal he carries doubles both as a diary and notebook for recording beautiful places he visits and interesting ruins he comes across.
Anselm's current obsession seems to be that of a rumored weapon called the Sword of Cinders. He's always on the lookout for even the briefest mention of the swords existence, though many believe it to be nothing but a fairytale.

Anselm is a very lively person full of life and vitality! His large amounts of stamina helps a great deal in his journeys and rumors have spread widely about his seeming ability to cover more ground in a single day than most adventurers. In fact he gained the nickname "Miles" from these rumors. Anselm has a love for beautiful views and he thinks that the most beautiful are ones you get at night from high places. For this reason he's known mostly to go out at night for adventures as opposed to the daytime.
Anselm has a ton of confidence in his abilities when it comes to adventuring and combat, and it's not without merit. He has a strong distaste for losing and a stubborn personality meaning that he's unlikely to give up even when he's barely able to move. Anselm is very careful never to come off as arrogant, however, and is always looking for an opportunity to learn more from people both young and old.
Anselm is known for being a bit more on the social end of the spectrum. Though he dislikes drinking alcohol and much prefers juice or milk he'll often visit taverns purely to interact with others and hear adventure stories (along with gathering info on whatever rumors of treasure are popular that day, of course). Despite this though Anselm is often alone when he adventures... though maybe that's only because his teammates seem to struggle with keeping up.

The Everhart family was once a well known name amongst the people of Mondstadt famed for being an up and coming rival in the wine industry. In current times however for Anselm and the rest of Mondstadt this is simply a fading memory of bygone days; a simple reminder that trying to gain fame and fortune through unsavory means will only spell disaster in the end. Anselm was young when his parents were arrested for embezzelment and conspiracy and, having no relatives he could be entrusted to, he would end up in the care of the Knights of Favonius.
Most of the knights were often too busy to pay Anselm much attention aside from basic needs so in order to drown out the loneliness Anselm often took to the library. He began reading adventure stories at a young age, but eventually moved on to listening to adventurers tell their stories in real-time. He became particularly interested in the treasures and trinkets adventurers would bring back and show off from their adventures.
As he grew up Anselm began to come out of his shell more, but his observant nature never left. Because people weren't often paying attention to the young quiet boy it surprised them when he showed how much he had learned simply by observing and reading. Anselm had observed the knights during their training and secretly practiced at night, but also somehow found the time to study ancient texts and maps. So when the stubborn boy regularly followed adventurers outside the city danger seemed to be an after thought. After all that was just part of the package wasn't it?
"Have you ever heard of the Sword of Cinders? Haha I guess it's not that surprising, most people seem to overlook it."
Even before the age of 15 Anselm had experienced a myriad of successful hauls from his adventures. He'd brought back everything from beautiful jewels to artifacts and weapons with fascinating histories behind them, but there was still one treasure he sought above all else; The Sword of Cinders. It was said to be an ancient sword with an uncanny ability to heal and revive. Though only mentioned briefly in an unremarkable text of some mystery the tales of how it healed instead of injured caught Anselm's attention. What could be greater than a weapon that granted life?
Then came the day Anselm thought he'd finally made a breakthrough. Like usual he set off on an adventure with little preperation beforehand and soon found himself in front of some yet explored ruins. Taking his first step inside his exit was immediately blocked, and that should have been his first warning. What came next was a grueling labyrinth unlike anything Anselm had previously come across.
The entire place was cloaked in darkness and before long Anselm had run out of torches for light. He stumbled his way through the pitch black rooms for nearly three days certain he would find the end eventually, and he did. The final area was an empty room full of nothing save one single Ruin Grader. It was here Anselm was certain he would meet his end, but that wouldn't stop him from fighting.
What happened next he doesn't quite remember. Maybe it was a powerful hit that had knocked him out, but Anselm woke up on the cold floor of the dark ruins alone. The Ruin Grader gone and a single Vision at his side providing a faint glow. Though the Sword of Cinders evaded him once more Anselm could only see the journey as a success in the end. After all the beautfiul embers Anselm conjured after days of darkness were a sight he would never forget.
- Although Anselm likes all festivels the Liyue Lantern Rite is his favorite! He thinks seeing Liyue harbor all lit up beautifully at night is one of the most amazing things to see.
- He likes appearing cool and sometimes shows off, but he never lets it get in the way.
- Anselm typically only plays the lyre when he's alone sitting on a cliff or somewhere high up. Because of this most people don't even know he's able to play it.
- The blue parts of his outfit (earring, cape ends, shoes) actually glow! He apparently found a beautiful luminescent gem once and had it made into these accessories.
- His hobbies include: Restoring ancient weapons/artifacts, playing the lyre, gliding, listening to storytellers in Liyue, and fighting powerful opponents for fun.
- His character title is "Guiding Embers" and his constellation is the Pheonix
The two have known each other for quite a long time and have a bit of a bad reputation for being very destructive when fighting together. Anselm often gives Mingyu artifacts he finds to be sold in exchange for information.
