Outwardly, Wylim seems to be a charming athletic young elf with a lot going for him. He is surprisingly warm and polite compared to his other Wood Elf brethren, hence why he was chosen by Sidheag to become her aid when it comes to interacting with the general populace of Walpurgis. He’s easy to get along with but seems hard to pin down when it comes to hanging out outside of work.
In reality, Wylim prefers to keep to himself. Dedicated to his security work and studies, Wylim rarely has time in the day to do anything else other than sleep. The wood elf can be found patrolling the Blair Wood and barriers, or assisting Sidheag or the Elven community in some way. He’s always trying to prove himself as he hates being perceived as inadequate by those he looks up to. Wylim compares himself a lot to his peers, having a tendency to become overbearingly smug if he one-ups somebody, or moody and pathetic if he loses.
Despite his good looks and way with words, he has terrible luck when it comes to things like romantic interests. Those who are close to him will know Wylim is rather easy to embarrass and wind up. It’s rather humorous how the normally suave and cool warden can be made to stumble over his words if you manage to get him comfortable enough to let his walls down around you.

Magic
Area of Expertise
Having trained with the Walpurgis Security Team for over a century, Wylim has several skills and tricks under his belt. He works mainly as a scout, patrolling the barriers that protect the city for any unusual activity. Wylim is good at tracking and hunting things down, as well as being able to camouflage himself in his surroundings. And should it ever come to defending his home, Wylim is armed with his trusty bow.
Abilities
Mask of the Wild: Thanks to his Wood Elven talent, Wylim can camouflage himself when only lightly obscured by foliage, heavy rain, falling snow, mist, and other natural phenomena. He can only do this when deliberately focusing and being stealthy, and can be found via magical means.
Tree-top Mobility: Being born in the Blair Wood, Wylim has spent the majority of his life being amongst the trees. He’s incredibly agile and stealthy - able to maneuver with an almost supernatural quickness and silence from branch to branch. He also knows the map of the trees like the back of his hand, allowing him to transverse the Wood at great speed.
Sharpshooter: Wylim is well trained in the art of Archery. He’s been shooting arrows ever since he was old enough to hold a bow. He’s got great aim and arm strength, rarely ever missing his target.
Trained Tracker: Nothing gets past Wylim. Well, most of the time! He has a keen eye for spotting and following tracks, unusual markings, and identifying animal matter. He can tell when a campfire was last lit, follow someone’s trail even in the dense forest, and can tell what kind of poop that is from a quick glance.
Limitations
Wylim isn’t too talented when it comes to casting spells and magic. Whilst his Wood Elven blood grants him affinity with nature magic, he can only utilise his camouflage ability and nothing else. He isn’t very good at tracking anything magical - and tracks can be obscured by magic too. He has to rely on his more magically inclined coworkers for more complicated maintenance on the barrier surrounding the town, or any questions about spells and such.
The Security team trains its members to be efficient at most combat styles, but Wylim definitely favors keeping a distance and using archery as a way to keep enemies at bay. He can put up a fight if he needs to, but hand-to-hand combat tends to result in Wylim being overwhelmed quickly.
Personal Lore
History
Early Life
Wylim was born into the Wood Elf clan in Walpurgis, where they have made the Blair Wood their home. He is an only child to two parents, Ronnyn and Merith Hanalythil. He began archery training from the moment he was capable of learning, and enrolled into security training to follow in his parents’ footsteps in protecting their home.
When he was 10, Wylim had been playing hide and seek in the forest despite warnings not to with Syolkiir. Syolkiir proceeded to travel through a tree and never came back. The event traumatised poor Wylim and it made him never underestimate the magic of the Wood. He also grew secretly protective and clingy of his friends, one of those being Quest, his childhood crush and rival. Wylim became obsessed with his training even more, vowing to never lose one of his friends or family again.
Coming of Age
At age 100, Wylim was granted a more significant position within the Security Team ranks alongside his childhood friend, Quest. Life was going pretty swimmingly for him, he finally got some of the recognition he so craved, making his parents proud, feeling well established and respected as an adult within the Wood Elf Clan.
Shortly after, Syolkiir made a surprise return. Unfortunately for Wylim, she had no idea who he was, nor did she care to find out. He dealt with the shock and relief of her return, and the disappointment of not being remembered on his own. Mostly by overworking himself and not allowing himself time to develop friendships or feelings for anyone else.
Present Day
With the elections coming up, Sidheag has taken Wylim on to aid her in reaching out to the young Elven community and the rest of the Walpurgis populace. After he has completed his patrol routes, he sometimes visits town to be an advocate for the Wood Elf clan, voicing their concerns whilst just being a friendly face. He still takes his security work very seriously.
Race Lore
Wood Elves are a rather reclusive and secretive type of Elf, choosing to stay hidden away safely within the wilderness away from humans and the outside world. They cherish nature with an affinity for the elements, fauna and foliage. Wood Elves make great druids, hunters, scouts, and healers.
Wood Elves tend to be down to earth, realistic, and stoic. They have a deep understanding of the circle of life and death, birth and decay. They are fiercely protective of their woodland homes and don’t take kindly to those that harm the creatures and plants they live amongst. It takes time to earn a Wood Elf’s trust, they don’t care for fanciful words or promises, but consistent actions and proof of the goodness of your heart and intent.
