Celeste

The Golden Isle's obsession with the appearance and mutations of their children opened a perfect opportunity for Celeste, known genetics genius and ambitious business woman, to open a designer baby company. Of course, her family being pushed down to the bottom of the ladder despite being one of the most important has given her even more of a reason to want to reclaim her throne. Celeste may not be power hungry, but she is incredibly pissed about her family's treatment and she's going to prove to the world that she can.

To her employees, Celeste is a stern and rather terrifying sort of boss. She looks down on you despite her short stature and people who go to her office with complaints often come back in such a relaxed state that they forget why they had gone there in the first place. She’s fair with her payment and makes sure everything is going smoothly. However, she doesn’t bother with questions of ethics. If it’s not about her company going smoothly, she really doesn’t care. Celeste is also known for her short temper. It’s joked that her temper matches her stature.

Admittedly, part of her short temper comes from her semi-constant migraine. Some people get to have physiology that doesn’t leave them with a migraine. Celeste was unlucky enough to get a third eye that does nothing but . It doesn’t stop her from doing things - she’ll always do things - but it is rather infuriating and leaves her constantly frustrated.

Celeste is a very driven woman. If she wants something, she will stop at nothing to get it, morals and consequences be damned. Sure, she’s got enough common sense to not do something that’s going to actively hurt her chances. However, Celeste is smart enough to manipulate the odds in her favor and get what she wants out of it.

At home, Celeste is known for relaxing, just a bit. It’s good for her to be fairly calm at times and she’s far nicer to those she’s close to than really anyone else. Plus she fawns over her 3 headed dog like nobody’s business. It’s simply not anyone else’s place to see her in her more relaxed state - she’s not like that when guests are over at all.

Celeste’s family has a long line of famous people to it. However, before she was born her grandfather got into some trouble with the government and the Solverion family was cast down to a lower class in disgrace.

Enter Celeste, a bright young child with grand ideas. Her mother told her stories about their family and the disgrace they suffered, filling the young and firey Celeste with ideas of reinstating their family to its former glory. The only question now was how to do it…

The answer came in the form of Genetic Engineering. When the concept was introduced in the biology course she took as a teen, Celeste became obsessed. Manipulating the very essence of a person was simply amazing, and the obsession parents had with having the perfect baby gave her an idea.

She made a business out of it. The young adult Celeste got together some of her science buddies and together they founded Genesis Children. Though it was a rocky start, they were soon able to get others interested in the company and grow their business.

Of course, not everyone liked the idea of a designer baby company. Protests began to spring up and it got very infuriating very fast. Sure Celeste has her mood influencing powers, but they don’t work well over large crowds. Soon legal trouble emerged.

The main defense lawyer for the Genesis Children was Copper. Celeste was immediately smitten, although she wisely kept it out of the courtroom and case until her side won and Copper was no longer providing a service.

Copper won Celeste over even more by being chivalrous and not expecting a level of perfection from Celeste that everyone else did. They were very comfortable with each other, especially because Copper is ridiculously tall and Celeste is ridiculously short.

The two women went on to further their careers. Celeste provided Copper the funds to start up a law firm while the Genesis Children dominated the previously non-existent industry.

After an interesting incident involving three different couples and a single embryo, Copper proposed the idea of having a baby. It took Celeste a few years to agree, but when Celeste was 34 Malachite was born from one of the Genesis Tubes.

Malachite proved to be a difficult child. Always screaming, always demanding attention that Celeste couldn’t always give. She did her best, considering that Malachite seemed to adore her, but Copper proved to be the more capable parent. Copper also proved to be the more doting parent.

Copper’s adoration of Malachite led her to ask Celeste for another baby, “but conceived naturally this time!” Celeste was even more hesitant, but it did seem to be a good idea. Malachite was a very sheltered child, so a sister might do them good.

So, at age 40 Celeste delivered a baby girl for the only time in her life: her daughter, Miasma.

Dealing with school and child/teenage drama along with her business has left Celeste a very stressed out woman. More protesters have arrived, and this time Copper’s her wife, not her genius lawyer. One can only hope that Celeste has it all under control.
