The young Queen is soft-spoken and rather timid. She is easily overwhelmed and struggles to maintain a firm, commanding tone. She tends to avoid the public eye and always has a distant, far-off look. Some say she is lost, others think she is weak. Synoeca is pitied and criticized constantly. They're all correct - Synoeca is drowning in the overwhelming responsibility that has been dumped onto her. All she wants is to return to her former life, but she's determined to stay strong and make her family proud.

Synoeca's rise to Queendom takes place years ahead of the "present day" established in this AU. To Stratosphere, a junior at Jade Mountain Academy, the young princess is only two years old.
The young Queen's history contains mentions of death!
The youngest princess of the Hivewing royal family, not much was expected of Synoeca and she grew up in wealth and comfort. However, she grew bored of the pampered life. She desired a life that /meant/ something. Shortly before her 20th birthday, Synoeca vanished from the palace - from Pantala - without a trace.
The princess wasn't kidnapped or killed, though. She fled on her own accord, sailed to Pyrrhia, and lived the next 12 years of her life deep within the Rainforest. She avoided the Rainwing capital to prevent anyone recognizing her and instead lived in a village near the coast. She lived in hiding, but found satisfaction and joy in the life that the palace could never offer her. Synoeca also found love in a Rainwing named Basil. They have spent the last four years happily partnered together.
That is, until a troop of Hivewings appeared and took Synoeca by force back to the palace. Synoeca had been found, and tragedy awaited her back home. She was rushed back to Pantala, her coronation just days away, ripped completely from the life she had made for herself. A disease had infected the Queendom and attacked its heart - their Queen, and the rest of the royal family, had all fallen victim to it. Treatments were being developed, but the Hivewings needed guidance and Synoeca was their only solution.
In the weeks since her crowning, Synoeca has barely rested. She's leading an entire tribe now, and working towards solutions to the disease, and still reeling from the loss of her family, all while still learning the basics of being Queen.

The former Queen, who ruled with an apathetic talon and venomous tongue. She challenged her mother, Queen Jewel, two years after her ascension and had ruled for the next 26 years. Queen Dauber met her fate to Venomcough, the sickness currently sweeping the Kingdom.

King Cerceris was a quiet, calculating dragon with eyes as cold as his aquamarine scales. While not particularly expressive, he was never cruel, despite spending most of his time at Queen Dauber's side.
36 - sister - deceased
The rightful heir to the throne. Vespid looked down upon her younger siblings and wasn't subtle about her plans to succeed Queen Dauber. She decided on an easy route and worked with King Cerceris to develop a poison to end the Queen's life. One that would leak from its containment and develop into Venomcough.
35 - brother - deceased
Queen Dauber's eldest son. He was popular but reserved, spending most of his time courting the young nobles "in secret" and stirring up headliners for the next day's papers.
33 - brother - deceased
Unlike Cyanaea, Pompili loved the attention of a crowd. Him and his twin sister, Suri, were Queen Dauber's "golden children" and well-loved by the Hivewing Kingdom. They played their roles as sweet, smart, joyful royals well.

Where one went, the other followed. Synoeca found them both chatty and bratty, and especially couldn't tolerate Suri's shrill tones. The halls are empty without their laughter.

Rugos was the former King before Cerceris took the throne. Synoeca saw him often slinking through the palace. Many royals have a negative opinion of him, but his smile is kind.
The nobleman enjoys his wealth and seniorhood in another Hive, safe from Venomcough.
