Dislikes: Being told what to do, being called "Deary", brats, not being taken seriously, his companions not taking missions seriously, charities, winter, and his antlers getting damaged.

Personality: Deerrain is rather greedy and vain, always wanting something he can't have: money, women, power, etc. He considers his antlers to be his best feature. Naturally he finds himself the target of his peers jokes, but he usually just gets annoyed with it and moves on. Despite his greed, Deerrain knows how to stay level-headed and when to quit when things look bad. He's still known to get a bit fiery and bad tempered when things go sour or when he gets really, really annoyed. Deerrain likes to think he's super charming, but he never finds any success in this. Despite easily going along with much of the villains plans, Deerrain is more likely to question them than the other elves and is often the first to bail. The person he's nicest to is his sister Cheryl, but this is likely out of guilt.

Home: Animal Planet

History: Deerrain and his sister Cheryl had a brief peaceful childhood with the other elves. This changed when Glades the space conqueror made them do her bidding under threat of death. Deerrain and Cheryl were the first two elves sent to Animal Planet to search for the mysterious and powerful Ameritis Crystals. Deerrain wanted to stay focused on the mission in hope that they'd be able to return to a normal life, but often found himself dragged into Cheryl's misadventures. One day the duo thought they found a lead on the location of an Ameritis Crystal, but the gem in question ended up being the Cursed Demon Ruby instead. In a moment of panic, Deerrain passed the ruby to Cheryl, who was then cursed to live in a ghost-like state. Deerrain then begged Glades to help him cure Cheryl, but found himself dismayed when he ended up continuing being sent on missions under false promise that Cheryl would be cured. At some point, the duo began living in Glass Mansion, which doesn't  actually seem to be made of glass.

Deerrain encounters the main characters early into the story while stealing money from the local supermarket. He ends up being a recurring enemy of theirs from that moment.

Current-Bio: Deerrain currently lives in Glass Mansion with Cheryl. He works for the evil organization SAC and regularly encounters the main characters as enemies. He's occasionally seen failing to pick up women. Deerrain spends some time trying to find a way to breaks Cheryl's curse, but hasn't found a solution yet.

Meta-History: Deerrain was created in 2012 when I was trying to design Cheryl's brother. I had intended for Cheryl to have a brother for quite some time before designing him. The original idea was that he didn't care about Cheryl at all and purposely trapped her in a ghost-like state, and his design was supposed to be more fallen-angel-ish with red hair to match Cheryl's. For some reason, I scrapped this idea and designed Deerrain with a blue theme and decided that he had no ill intentions towards his sister. When I first posted him, a lot of people like his design for some reason (idk why) so that influenced me a bit in developing him. While he was popular with friends, I decided to make him unpopular in-universe and desperate for a girlfriend. |D I think going with a more comedic characterization ended up being best in the long run because my original idea for him was too dark and angsty.

Relationships with Other Characters:

Shadow-cat:  Unlike a lot of the other elves, Deerrain tends to find himself more annoyed with Shadow-cat than threatened. However, he knows Shadow-cat can help him save Cheryl so it's not like Deerrain has much choice other than to help him.

Glades: Deerrain dislikes Glades, but feels he has no choice but to follow her orders.

Cheryl: Deerrain is close to his sister, but does not share her optimism or playfulness. Despite this, he's a bit distant to her. Perhaps his guilt of not knowing how to help her is the cause of this?

Saturn: Deerrain and Saturn used to be close in the past but now tend to bicker with each other more often than get along.

Cyrus: Deerrain finds Cyrus to be too serious and sees himself as Cyrus's rival, but this is one-sided.

Matchi: Deerrain likes Matchi, but she is generally annoyed by him.

Ramby: Deerrain doesn't like Ramby, but no one really does.

Cecil: Deerrain rarely gets along with Cecil, and is implied to be afraid of him.

Meevio: Deerrain gets along will with Meevio, but dislikes when he teases him. The two go on missions together often.

Pocky: Deerrain generally gets along with Pocky, but dislikes the latters teasing.

Marin: Deerrain and Marin are friends.

Reese: Deerrain gets along with Reese.
