part of a herd of wild horses that grazes near a dormant volcano. They believe themselves to be the descendants of a legendary herd of horses that was said to survive the volcano's first eruption thanks to their hooves, with their legs and underbelly turning reddish over time due to the contact with the incandescent lava or so the story goes. Whether its true or not, this herd has been living near the volcano for generations and other animals usually avoid them, afraid that hurting or angering these horses might anger the volcano as well.
