Maki is very talented when it comes to academics as well as art and music, though she has grown to despise academics due to being forced to do well. Maki has very few actual friends and is very well known at her school for being the top student. Most kids do not like her due to her rough exterior, but if they would get to know her, she's quite nice when she can accept that not everyone is like her parents and people can genuinely care about her. At her best, she is kind, if not really shy, quiet, and a great friend; at her worst, she is ruthless, cold, and selfish.

Maki is a perfectionist. She can come off rude and mean when alone with others. She tries to stay silent because she has a fear of abandonment, so she won't let anyone build a relationship with her. She comes from an extremely wealthy family, which puts a lot of pressure on her to do well in school as well as other things, sometimes forcing her to stay up late at night just so she can study as hard as she can. This pressure put on her makes her afraid to stand up to authority and tends to make her mean towards others just so she can feel like she's more important.
