   Rosethorn is a small, thin spotted cat with black and gray fur as well as a fluffy cream-colored underbelly. He has abnormally long pointed teeth and dark amber eyes that appear almost red in some lighting.
   While Rosethorn is a pleasant and generally amiable cat to be around, he can sometimes be rather naïve. He tries to be proper and cordial, though often his emotions still manage to slip through. Although he usually has good intentions, he often finds himself being easily tricked, outspoken, or manipulated by other cats into doing their wishes. Regardless, he takes his duties and loyalty to the clan very seriously. As such, Rosethorn strives to help all cats as per the Medicine Cat Code- regardless of what trouble it lands him in.

backstory
   Before Rosethorn joined ShadowClan, he was born a kittypet. He was taken away from his mother when he was too small to really remember much about her, other than her warm scent. From then on, he lived in a very small den enclosed on all sides except the front, which had some sort of see-through wall. Everyday he would watch twolegs pass by his den, until one day, a twoleg removed the front wall. While he tried to scramble away, the huge creature picked him up effortlessly and carried him away from his den. Too tired to fight, Rosethorn fell asleep and when he awoke he found himself inside a twoleg nest.   He lived inside the twoleg nest for a few moons, and during that time he was known as Rosey. Though he was fed and content enough in the time he lived there, he always shed for something… more. One day in Leaf-bare, he was perplexed when the twoleg put him outside, on the border of the forest. Though he tried to come back, and waited outside the nest for a while, eventually, he grew too cold and hungry, deciding he needed to find help. He wandered in the forest for a while until, deliriously, he stumbled upon a strange she-cat who he would come to know as Hailfur. She decided to take him back to ShadowClan camp as she had a vision the night before of a young cat who looked just like him training to become a medicine cat.
   Once Hailfur had convinced the other cats in camp to let her train the former kittypet, he was given the name Rosepaw. StarClan’s vision proved correct as, although he struggled greatly with learning how to fight and hunt, he took a knack to memorize herbs and treating other cats. Eventually, at 15 moons, he was given his full medicine cat name- Rosethorn. Not long after receiving his name however, disaster struck when Hailfur told Rosethorn she had received a vision of her own demise on the Thunderpath. And, only a few moons later, the vision came true.
   Seasons upon seasons passed. ShadowClan went through periods of health and sickness, abundance and starvation, happiness and despair. Though there were times when he felt completely overwhelmed, where he would wistfully wonder what would've happened if only his twolegs had kept him, his faith in the Medicine Cat Code and his clanmates helped him hold steady. Recently, a nasty bout of Greencough that infected many of the ShadowClan cats shook Rosethorn to his core and made him begin to question his abilities once more. It was only after seeing Umberpaw, his newly appointed apprentice, show an interest in healing that re-ignited his confidence in himself again. It made him remember when he was a kit, strolling through the forest for the first time, not as a kittypet, but as a free Medicine cat of ShadowClan.
