backstory
- Ara comes from a somewhat prestigious family of mages, and was forced to join the Asterfall mage academy as soon as she was old enough. The pressure from both her family and the rest of the academy made her incredibly anxious, to the point where she shut down, avoiding classes and spending most of her time staring out the window of her dorm to the ocean below. When her parents confronted her on her behavior, she took off, leaping from the highest towers of the academy and flying out over the ocean. Despite her competence with flying, she found herself lost before she could circle back to Brouzet, and ran out of energy over the ocean with no land in sight.
- Luckily for them, there was a ship down below, and they took refuge in the crow's nest. It wasn't long before the intimidating crew of the boat found them, but to their surprise, they quickly took her in. Once the boat- the Temptest's Revenge, they quickly learned- docked, they were reluctant to return to land, and Captain Cuvier invited them to stay.
- Ara has served as the botswain of the Temptest's Revenge ever since. The constant antics of being a pirate make her nervous at times, but the crew is always there to support her.
