Ritsu Kuninaga

Ritsu is the only daughter of a family of four. Originally from Doma, Ritsu escaped with her family during the Garlean invasion. When she is not adventuring, she can be found in a local inn room jewelry making.

History 

Having escaped along with her family from Doma, Ritsu finds herself in the dry deserts of Thanalan-- a much drastic contrast to the water surrounding the city of Doma. Unknownst to Ritsu, her family had been slaughtered in front of her when she was 3 years old. Having blocked out those memories, she believes that the gaps in her memories are because she was separated from them in their escape from Doma. She has set out with her friends in a hopeful attempt to reunite with her family.

Personality 

Cheerful and down to earth, Ritsu is always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Had it not been for the friends that she travels with, her kindness would have been easily taken advantage of multiple times. Ritsu is also very patient, but her patience does have a limit. She is silent and cries if she gets angry enough, and at those times she lets her anger take over as she lashes out. She cares very deeply for her companions and is willing to throw herself in harm's way if it means that she would protect them.

Unlocking Job Classes

Upon Ritsu's arrival in Ishgard, she stumbles across her older brother's childhood friend, Sidurgu Orl, who saved her from being killed by an Ishgardian that mistaken her for a dragon born. Out of excitement, she greets the large Au Ra man, asking him if he knew where her family had fled, only to learn the truth of what happened. Stricken with grief and anger, she began her journey as a dark knight with Sidurgu and Fray as her mentors. 

She begins her journey as a red mage when she meets X'hrun Tia, who became a father-like figure to her as she learned to balance the light and darkness inside of her.

Trivia

• Her chocobo is named Yakitori, and she had attempted to eat it once but discovered that chocobos did not taste good-- thus allowing Yakitori to live another day.
• Her nickname with close friends is Ricchu.
• Animals really love her. It is not uncommon for her to become friends with beasts that people would normally avoid.
