Hi! This is kind of secondary information that might be important to know to somewhat better understand some of my character pages. A lot of what I write is for something else and is very heavily based in a little fantasy world of monsters and weirdness that I made. It's taking a lot of courage to even share all of this now. Though, it's a good note that most of my character's pages refer to past events and do not mention events that are to happen in a constructed story line I've made for another project, with the exception of Argus' page. So, here is a brief overview of what I think I need to state separately.

My characters exist on a planet that I call "Auden". As such, you may see me use the term "Audenian" to refer to characters that live there. It's your typical "earth, BUT FURRIES!" setup, though their society is a little different. They tend to dress differently (with gothic styles and "animal fashion" (like harnesses and collars) being popular), and don't have certain bigotries present on the planet as they have greater things to worry about. Audenians kind of live their lives in fear of the supernatural creatures they share their homes with, while the supernatural creatures likewise live in fear of the Audenians as they do hunt them. They are also more technological advanced than us due to the fact they can easily manipulate and see the "human soul". This means they have things like fully sapient machines and working head, brain, and soul transplants. This quick advancement has put Audenians in their space-age way before we have; they were traveling through the stars while we were evolving from fish that decided to walk on land. They are also goofy creatures that, no matter what language they're speaking, they tend to use "olden" words and speak like Victorian era people with modern day slang thrown in. So, you get things like "Thou shall pull up!".

“Titan Labs” is a scientific research facility that specializes in many different branches of science, as they have a large staff and multiple other facilities around the world. By all accounts, it appears to be a normal research facility, and even has made quite a few breakthroughs in modern technology, having made some products and other things that have definitely improved overall quality of life. Titan Labs does, however, also have a large “main” facility that is located deep underground, hidden beneath a town referred to as Deerfield. This underground facility is where all the “bad” of Titan Labs is kept secret. Here, they contain things such as jailers, supernatural entities, and others with strange abilities. The people that are held here are either referred to as patients (non-supernatural entities), or experiments (supernatural entities). Titan Labs conducts a large number of inhumane testing in this underground facility, and have committed quite a number of atrocities that they intend to keep secret.

"Jailers" are demonic entities that are one step above your average demon. They’re incredibly dangerous; as they possess strange physical abilities and heightened physical strength, powerful magics, and the ability to rapidly heal wounds of any kind. Jailers are given these abilities as once they are created, they unlock the ability to manipulate their own pulse light, meaning they can heal and shapeshift themselves. They can, however, be harmed or repressed by any object, thing, place, or person with a “holy” denotation or meaning, like churches, totems, crosses, etc. Typically, in all cases, jailers are created once a regular person transmogrifies into one. This transformation can come about suddenly and at any moment. It’s usually activated once said person has been so consumed with a single negative ideal, that they basically become that ideal. Jailers are incredibly diverse in every category, as their forms and powers are dependent, related to, and based on the ideal that they are shaped around. Since they did use to be people, these jailers have remnants of their old mind, but they are quickly taken over by this specific ideal which becomes the main control of their lives. For jailers that were created as jailers and were never human to begin with, they tend to lack humanity in most regards. These only occur when The allfather makes a jailer, or one is artificially created, or the pulse light that is the forming jailer is somehow removed from the body during transformation. Jailers were created from what is referred to as their allfather, otherwise known as The First One. This entity got their name from being, as you may have guessed, the first jailer to have ever been created. From The First One, all other jailers sprung forth, seeping from the incomprehensible mass as if they were drips of sweat seeping off a person. As The First One remains dormant in the center of the Earth, most Jailers have actually come from underground, which is why they tend to lack eyes and have a high body heat (to mimic the heat of the Earth’s core). The First One, however, doesn’t make new jailers anymore. Despite now being in an eternal slumber, this entity still sends "pulses" into the planet via tendrils that grip the entire core. These pulses send what is known as a "pulse light" into the planet. All Audenians and everything on their planet has a pulse light "soul", and the more pulse light present in someone, the more susceptible they are to becoming a strain or jailer. So, as long as the allfather lies within the core, jailers are always going to happen. Pulse lights are considered a type of UV radiation/ultraviolet, invisible light.

The First One's tendrils can be found kind of like fossils. People tend to leave them alone, though, because they are usually filled with souls. The First One has a hivemind connection to every strain and jailer, and when said strain or jailer dies, their consciousness returns to The First One, basically living in a purgatory inside his mind; pretty much being in a dream. The pulse light soul of these dead strains and jailers is then to be recycled once a new one is created, thus they reincarnate. These pulse lights are stored within the aforementioned tendrils. Destruction of pulse light tendrils causes the light to be freed, which then scurries into the nearest living thing, which can sometimes be an Audenian. It extends the lifespan and if not already one, turns them into a jailer. Also, the afterlife for strains tends to be controlled and held together by figures of authority denoted by The First One himself. They are a specific kind of strain made specifically for this job, known as Revenant Kings. They are living pulse lights. They got their names as dead strains in The First One's Everlasting Purgatory are referred to as revenants.

Other things of note would be “risk levels”. A person’s risk level denotes how much pulse light is within them and how easily they are at risk of becoming a jailer or adopting a strand, but that’s only evident to people after the story line. Regular people are put in risk levels from zero to three, while all jailers and most strands are at a level four on the scale. However, revenant kings are the only known risk level fives. This is because they are pulse light made flesh created directly by The First One, meaning they have more pulse light in them than anything on the planet. Risk Level Zero individuals do not have any pulse light present, but are extremely sensitive to it and are at risk of developing radiation based illnesses. They also don't naturally occur, you'll only see risk level zero individuals if they are artificially created. Risk Level One individuals have very little pulse light in them, but are not sensitive to it. Risk Level Two individuals are the direct middle. Risk Level Three individuals have the most powerful pulse lights of normal Audenians and are more sensitive to strand infections. Nobody is discriminated upon for whatever their natural risk level is, it’s simply just something that’s important to know mostly for medical reeasons. Strands/Strains are what’s used to refer to other supernatural creatures. Supernatural creatures here are actually just created by mutated virus strains of the same thing that creates jailers, so basically mutated pulse light in the form of a virus. Each strain does something different. V-strains are usually considered your typical vampire, while W-strains are your typical werewolf, and jailers are sometimes even referred to as J-strains due to this. Strand/Strain is used interchangeably. "Strain" is scientifically correct, though "strand" is somewhat of a pun, a play on words in a sense.

Deerfield is the town that the story mostly takes place within. It’s considered one of the most supernatural places you could possibly visit, and that’s because The First One is closer to the surface here. It’s an incredibly small town located in Saint Clair County, Illinois. The other locations within the storyline (which you can see where each character lives via their tags) are Ravenway, Saint City, Keystone, and Starburst Village. Ravenway is located in southwest Missouri, in both Taney and Stone County. Saint City is a metro area on the cusp of Illinois and Missouri, though belongs to Missouri! Keystone is the largest city of the bunch, encompassing both Cook and DuPage county in Illinois. Starburst Village is only a short 28 minute drive away from Deerfield, it's located in Madison County. All of these locations are based on real places that have value to me.

The cat in the icon is my cat! Her name is Beeper, she is a nebelung and the light of my life. Either way, thank you so much if you read any of that! I super appreciate any interest in my writings. If you ever have questions, or wanna talk to me about this (or anything really), you can message me!
