martine is my ponysona - and so she's me! that means she has less of an excessive and interesting story than most of my ocs. the most that can really be said about martine is that she's a plain pony from an ordinary place who wishes she had a better life. ever a dreamer, martine finds herself forever wondering about what could've been if she'd made any number of different choices. this turns her into a rather pessimistic mare, constantly finding dissatisfaction with her life and who she is. she's content, yet somehow discontent. martine is an enigma of sorts, unable to figure out how to make herself happy, and she keeps closed off enough that nobody else can get close enough to try anymore. she's just gonna.... float along until she does get what it's all about.
p e r s o n a l i t y
martine is best described as an awkward, fumbling mess of a mare that doesn't even know how to navigate a conversation with herself, let alone anyone else. she's good at lying, though she doesn't tend to use this for her own gain outside of safety. she unintentionally strays from social norms, and as a result she's learned to force herself back into them, lying to herself and others as she goes. with big dreams, she spends a lot of time inside her own head, which can leave her either happier than ever or scarred until she sleeps it off. martine isn't okay and that's okay.

n i h i l | best friend nihil is martine's best friend, and has been for approximately 3 years now. martine's absolutely awful at letting others know she needs them, but with nihil it comes easily and they gladly stick around for her, despite her drama and constant slew of absolutely terrible decisions and mess of emotions. she really needs them. like, a lot. |
