Lace🪰📚

Lace is the resident librarian of Local's University. Like all anthropods, she lacks the internal structure or mouth parts to speak, rendering her completely mute. Instead, Lace is able to communicate by writing what she wants to say on a notepad or tablet. She can also make small chirps and thrills with her abdomen -- although nothing near as loud as the males of her species can accomplish.

Due to her small size and general quietness, Lace tends to be very shy. That doesn't mean that she doesn't love others, though. Lace deeply enjoys spending time with her friends, and she'll often go out of her way to invite people over on her days off just so that she doesn't have to be alone.

Have you heard of the "sweater curse"? Well she hasn't! Lace makes it a project to crochet something for every one of her friends, and she goes to great effort to make sure that it is something they'll actually want to wear. She often gets nervous that because she is so quiet, people will drift away from her if she doesn't remind them that she is there all the time. What she doesn't see is that behind her shy exterior is someone thoughtful, sweet, and very very funny.
