About

Awakening in a brackish river in Brazil,Orpheus was born. For months the aquatic beast wandered from river to river, eventually finding his way to Midveil. Yet nothing seemed to be around him but sand and sea, so his wandering continued. As he walked he felt the gentle lullaby of the waves call for him, drawing him into their warm waters. Slowly, slowly he made his way into the salty sea. Swimming came natural to him, he would hunt for fish to eat, and peacefully lived alongside the wildlife. Until a riptide came, catching him in it's current and pulling him. Though he fought, the waves only grew larger and largers as a storm approached closer, the water turning dark as it bruttally tossed him around. The poor Mimix thought he was done for, clutching his wings over his soul gem to stop it from cracking. That was, until he felt a net wrap around his body, pulling him out of the deep. A snuggle of mimix greeted at the guppy, helping him settle after his near death experince. Once the storm settled, the snuggle took Orphesus to the Sea Salt Port, introducing him to his new home. While Orphesus apprciated the free education and housing, the Mimix couldn't help but feel nervous in such crowded rooms. The constant chatter made his scales stand on end and the bright light made his eyes burn. As soon as he was old enough, Orphesus ran to the docks and never looked back, signing up to be a sailor under an Cardinal Fish Mimix and his son, Shui. He found his home back on the choppy winter seas, fainlly calming his nervous heart.

One day, the three sailors encountered something... truly terrifying out on the deep. Beast with hungry eyes attacked their boat, throwing them into the dark sea. Though the Cardinal Fish Mimix fought to protect his young, eventually, his soul gem cracked, and with that, the two young Mimix's had to survive alone. They managed to cling to debris and escape the stated beasts clutches, but the scars that remained didn't heal, not fully.

Where the Shui retired from sailing and took up a life of surfing waves and living free, some part of Orpheus was still drawn to the sea. It's danger, but also it's beauty. He did odd jobs around the port, eventually, with the help of some haggling from Kip, bought his own little dinky ship. With it, he would take any adventure that wanted to into the deep, unknown sea, as far as they wanted to. If they had crumbs to pay, that was. With that, he would pay for his own housing on the Port when he eventually did Dock, allowing Shui to live in his house for free. Weither out of guilt for not being able to save his father, or out of the kindess of his own heart, Orpheus is still not sure.

While working, he came across a curious group of adventurers that called themselves the Crane Corps. A yellow Jollybean, an Arborling, and a Trickster. A beautiful Trickster. With sharp claws and crimsion eyes that seemed to shoot daggers through him. Soft, sleek grey fur that glistened under the beaming sun. She was like the sea itself, dangerous, yet motherly, kind, gorgeous. He found his solitary heart cracking as he spent more time with her. At first, she was cold, never speaking to him, activly avoiding him, in fact, yet as their journey persisted, the two felt the wall between them slowly fall, and love begin to bloom. Not all stories had an happy ending though, Orpheus knew that first hand. Once the adventures reached their island destination, got their treasure, they headed back, it was the end of it all. The Trickster seemed to linger, yet the two said their goodbyes, and took their diffrent paths in life. Orpheus knew it would selfish to stop someone as free as that. Someone truly like the sea. While they still write letters to each other from time to time... Orpheus can't help but long for her gaze again.
