Augustus, or Gus as he is known to his friends, is the perfect example of a gentle giant. Incredibly kind and compassionate, he is always there if someone is in need of a helping hand or even just someone to listen to them. Although he is shy and would be more introverted than his siblings, Augustus will always say hello and greet anyone who make their way into his small rustic florist shop. Often he will strive to learn the names and various facts about those that purchase from him, especially the returning clients and those that stop by his cart at the Sunday market when he appears to sell his fresh produce.

Extremely empathetic, he could be considered a somewhat therapist - he’s always happy to provide some ‘flower therapy’ to his customers, complete with infused tea that he experimentally makes and for his absolute favourite customers he will even offer them samples of the produce he is attempting to create, including small jars of jams and honey.

History

Augustus is from a rather strong line of blacksmiths, known for their strength and brutish structures. The first (and only) son of the family, it was expected that he would one day take over the family business and run the small forgery, known as ‘The Clank Tank’ but when the gentle bull calf would accompany his father to work, he would find himself distracted by the garden’s they passed on the way and the people that would approach the shop looking for leatherwork or metalwork to be completed.

His sisters had much more of an interest, and after many years of trial and error, Augustus’ father soon realised that it was a lost cause and allowed the bull calf to stay home with his mother, helping her to attend her garden. He fell in love with watching the seeds be planted, in watching the sprouts form and then finally in ensuring that the growing plant received all of the care it needed to flourish and thrive.

Sadly his mother passed away one summer and Augustus took his leave, moving out of his childhood home and finding himself a small cottage with a square piece of land to garden on, working long tireless hours to ensure that it was in top shape, gathering produce in the form of vegetables and fruits and selling them off at local markets until he found his knack for floral arrangements.

Eventually, he perfected his craft and managed to save up enough money in order to buy his own store for his brand “Late Bloomers”. Even though he now has his own store, Augustus will still attend the small markets to visit his regular customers and for those that are ill or elderly he will even visit their homes, bringing small jam and honey pots and even various teas for them to drink together.
