He likes to give everyone a second chance and believes that there is good in every person. His naivety gets him into trouble sometimes, but he usually manages to get out with either his natural charm or his bugbear strength. Speaking of which, Bogo is very insecure about being a bugbear, which often leads him to become timid, scared and/or cowardly. Despite that, he's always trying his best to make the world a better place.

BACKSTORY

BEGINNING

Bogondius Di Bugundi. A name well known amongst the people of Balasar. Well, most of them at least. Or a few. Okay okay, actually it’s just a small community that knows about him, but that sounds kind of lame, doesn’t it? Especially for someone like Bogondius. You see, Bogondius Di Bugundi, or Bogo for short, was a bard on a journey to make his dream reality: performing for people far and wide. Blessing their ears with the sweet sound of his deep voice and his graceful dancing. A solid dream if you ask me, and the people of his community thought so too. There was just one problem: Bogo was a bugbear.

If you didn’t know, bugbears were generally pretty awful creatures. Big, brutish and dumb. These stinky fur bags were known for their dangerous strength and it was common knowledge to avoid them at all costs. So how come a bugbear like Bogo became a bard of all things? Well, when Bogo was nothing but a little baby, a little fluff ball of fur, he got separated from his parents and ran right into the arms of Zappa the Sage. Or at least that's what he was told all his life. In reality, Bogo had been born to a human family in Barovia. Unfortunately a curse had befallen him, turning him into some sort of hairy monster. In order to save his life, Zappa took him far away, through the mist and into another world. There, he settled down in the small village Yogun on a peninsular called Balasar.
As Bogo grew up he developed a great love for music. According to Zappa, Bogo was able to sing before he was able to properly speak. And as faith would have it, Zappa became Bogo’s mentor. He taught him not only how to sing and make music, but to perform and captivate his audience with his dancing and swift movements, as well as how to fight. Soon, Bogo became the biggest sensation in the small village. But once he reached his teenage years and his limbs got visibly longer, his fur thicker and his fangs began to stick out of his muzzle, it became clear that Bogondius Di Bugundi, the sensation of Yogun, was indeed a bugbear. A bugbear that could sing and dance like no other before. And the people loved it! They didn’t mind Bogo’s heritage at all. He was one of them, that was all that mattered!

And so Bogo spent his youth being showered by love and compliments from his fellow peers. Fueled by their encouragement, Bogo wanted to set out into the world to explore and bring his music to as many people as possible. Blinded by his ambitions, he dismissed Zappa’s warnings. His mentor had told him that not everyone would be as accepting as them and that … well … other bugbears might not be friendly towards him either. Bogo didn’t believe it and so he set out into the world!

PRESENT

After Bogo had a series of weird dreams that lead him into a certain tavern, he ended up being mysteriously transported into another world. It was no other than the land of Barovia. Four other people got transported along side him. A dwarf named Kerimor, a middleaged woman named Hecate, a man named Devin and a young shifter named Nakata. By now, they have become friends and are collectively trying to find a way back home.
