TH1-STL3 is the shortened name given to this particular drone,

Among the various corptech drones, a specialized group known as "Trulan Harka" or "TH Drones" were created specifically for use in the slums following the rise in riots and attacks on the city. These drones could be spotted from others by their Skull-like faceplates and glowing insignias on their arms, chest, and head (These insignias could be turned off for more covert situations or changed to any colour at will). They could also be quickly identified via a glowing nameplate within the clear casing of each drone's skull. What they lacked in intelligence they made up for in sheer combat ability- purpose built to infiltrate even the most well-guarded gangs. Higher within the Trulan Harka are the Secure Tactical Leadership team or "STL". Uniquely able to keep track of drones across the slums, these drones were the main points of communication between the frontline and the human supervisors. While slightly less proficient in combat, these drones are experts at sneaking, climbing, and jumping- sometimes being likened to cats for their ability to reach almost anywhere.

Likely due to their rapid development and release, many of the first-generation drones (Also called TH1) presented with malfunctions. While most of these drones where quickly recalled, refurbished, or even destroyed- a few seemingly developed a sense of self-preservation and have not yet been located. The biggest giveaway of emerging sentience in these drones was the loss of control of their glowing insignias. Instead of being able to change the colours at-will, the insignias would change colours seemingly based on the emotional state of the drone. One of these malfunctioning drones is a first generation Trulan Harka- a member of the Secure Tactical Leadership team responsible for the northwestern region (region 3) of the slums. After being forced to locate and turn in almost all of the first gen TH1s within their sector due to their increasing intelligence, they began experiencing fits of rage in which their insignias would glow deep red without any control. They feared that if the humans found out about their malfunctioning, they would likely be destroyed next and as such it would be best to go on the run.

Thankfully their model was fitted with much longer battery life than many other drones, allowing them to go a minimum of 2 weeks between recharging. This helped them stay well away from humans for months while whilst their sentience continued to grow and flourish. Unfortunately, after a close call with a TH2 unit, they failed to find a safe place to recharge and instead powered off tucked into an abandoned storage unit. After sitting powered off for almost 6 months, Ani stumbled upon them while searching for scrap robotics. Ani took them back to her home and put them on a charger, allowing them to spend multiple days charging before attempting to power up the unit. Following being powered back up, TH1-STL3 and Ani spent many days trying to learn how to trust eachother, but eventually they became comfortable enough to exist (mostly) peacefully. Ani decided to begin referring to TH1-STL3 as "Thistle", and even gifted them the little cat hood to help at least cover their model number.
