Alouette

Alouette’s role as the Hidden Colony’s sage may initially come as a surprise. They appear very unassuming, never demanding the spotlight or drawing attention to themself. In conversations with them, they come off as distant, as if they’re in their own world. Though they don’t assert themself in interactions, their actions show that they are intentional. They’re always thinking of different paths in the future and what the best choice will be, being more forward-thinking than present.

Alouette’s actions are ultimately decisive, but this is a great effort on their part. They often feel like they’re putting on a show as they push their confident front, not wanting to be undermined as a trusted figure. They put considerable thought into what they do, considering whether it aligns with the desires of their colonymates. This leads to them second-guessing themself a lot, and sometimes they will be paralyzed by this overanalysis. They love the exploration of abstract ideas and philosophies, valuing the thought that’s put into them and constantly craving different perspectives.

Alouette enjoys finding meaning in things. They readjust their perspective often, carefully watching others as if imagining themself in another’s paws. Though they want others to believe in them as a leader, they view their position as one that allows them to uplift others. They place a lot of trust in their colonymates and hope to impart meaningful experiences to them. Alouette sees the potential in every soul, believing that those who have been led astray simply haven’t been in the right place at the right time. They believe that strength lies not in domination and aggression, but in mutual compassion and understanding. Alouette has a keen sense of how others are feeling, often looking straight through them, and can ease almost any emotional conflict.

Alouette realizes that they’re a little too quiet and dreamy, which is why they work so hard to be more like the cats who influenced them. They want to stand up for their loved ones with determination and integrity. They may put up a front that they’re confident, but truthfully, they see themself as weak. This is evident when their loved ones express dissatisfaction with their ways, as they will bend to whatever their loved ones want. Alouette can be a bit isolated when they’re upset or overthinking, afraid to show their vulnerabilities. It can be a difficult kind of cognitive dissonance, convincing others of a great future when they secretly don’t believe in it themself.
