Being the incarnation of Sloth, he's a completely apathetic entity. And not just physically, but emotionally and mentally. He puts no effort into his work and relationships with others. While his brothers try their best, to say he doesn't have strained relationships with them would be a lie. Yet his reserved demeanor helps with intimidation on the rare occasions he takes his work seriously.
He's fiercely independent as opposed to being intolerant of his siblings like the others are. He can take of himself just fine.

Like Mammon, Belphegor was pretty young when the rebellion Lucifer incited broke out. Though, he had the opportunity to participate to some extent by organizing Hell's young legions. Despite the defeat, he didn't care all to much and was one of the first to take up a throne in Hell.
As a Prince, Belphegor took on several tasks. His main job is administrative work for all of Hell's casinos, leaving the money side to his younger brother, Mammon. He also helps weigh the souls of the damned and finds apt layers of Hell to punish them in. With some humans, he's worshipped as a patron saint of sleep and is given offerings in exchange for a good night's rest.
While the majority of the Princes abandoned their thrones, Belphegor didn't exactly leave. While he remains away from his throne, he still caries out his jobs and tries to give aid to Beelzebub when he can afford to. Due to his apathetic nature, he takes a while to actually give aid.
