Naia

The first time I designed a Pokesona, I just chose one a friend had designed for me. I was having trouble picking one from the official because a lot of my favorites didn’t really fit me. For example, I love Dragonair, but I’m more tomboyish than elegant and I just felt like she didn’t click. But after awhile I just was not really clicking with my “fakemon” sona. It was around then I had a long conversation with my best friend about what I would be if I was an official pokemon. This discussion even involved me looking up their pokedex info on Bulbapedia and seeing if their typical personality fit me.

The end result of this was that Dratini probably fit me best. I always have pictured Dratini as playful, maybe a bit clumsy when she gets excited. And my best friend said he thinks they’re very cute without being arrogant/aware of it, and he said that fits me well. I think she’s also more tomboyish than Dragonair. There only remained one concern in my mind. Tho I found myself thinking more and more about myself as a Dratini, I was worried people would criticize me for sexualizing a pre-evolution. I mean, this was meant to represent me after all, and I’m pretty openly sexual so it was a valid concern. Eventually I decided it didn’t matter, she would be my character and she wouldn’t be underage so it wouldn’t matter.

keirajo helped me bring my dream to life. She has options for either a naga-style tail or legs because I could not pick. Justification for this is forms are a thing in pokemon! Typically she will be seen with legs, the naga-style form will probably be reserved for a few pictures that will be likely NSFW. Shifting between the legs and tail is her Pokemon Ability, called ‘Skin Shift’. It is a mutation of Dratini’s Ability ‘Shed Skin’.

Naia can be a bit shy, it seems to come on randomly and beyond her control. But most of the time she is bubbly and outgoing. She can be a bit clumsy when she gets too excited, which is why she always makes sure to practice her Pokemon Contest routines ahead of time. She is sort of a tomboy in her choice of clothes and actions, tho she can dress up if she wants to or feels she needs to for a special occasion. She loves reading and listening to music. She also enjoys exploring nature and the outdoors a lot. She is very playful and can be witty at times and often is snarky or makes dirty jokes. She loves her friends and is always loyal to them and tries to help them out whenever they are in need. She turns into a big baby when she’s ill and wants to be taken care of and pampered.
