Pre-game

Kleon was born in the Black Shroud and raised by her mother until her untimely death when Kleon was six years old. An Elezen couple, minor nobles of House Haillenarte visiting from Ishgard, found the wayward child and took her on as their ward, fancying themselves philanthropists.  

From that point forth, Kleon was raised in Ishgardian high society, leading a privileged life and adopting its manners and customs. However, her early memories of the Shroud were enough to give Kleon a taste for freedom, and as she aged, she found Ishgardian society more and more stuffy and regressive. Things became only more unbearable after the calamity struck - Kleon couldn't stand the cold and snows that took over Coerthas in its wake. Having reached adulthood and being fully bored with life in Ishgard, she set out on a journey to see more of the world.

Kleon travelled first to the Black Shroud, but it had been a long time since her early childhood there, and it did not feel like home in the way she had expected it to. When she reached Thanalan, however, Kleon fell in love with its warm sun and friendly people of Ul'dah - even the aristocrats seemed laid back compared to the Ishgardian nobles she grew up around.
