The Past

Soleil was born a mortal quite some time ago, however details about his early life are little known and not something the man is apt to reveal to people. Often he dismisses questions about it by saying it does not matter, it is far too faded into the past to be of relevance these days. All that is recorded is that in his young adulthood he was a rather talented alchemist and witch with flora based powers. He was close to fellow hedge witch, Perdita Withcrop, a Hyur female and high priestess of Blackfern Coven, a group of witch that were pledged to the Nocte Immortalem union. Nocte Immortalem was young in those days, consisting of several houses of 'nightfolk' and other unsual races or people banded together under the idea of protecting themselves from persecution by mortals. Perdita was always a strong advocate for peace instead of fear and Soleil was her strongest supporter. Many suspect that the two had been lovers but if one is to ask Soleil, he will speak nothing about it.

Whatever the case Soleil was a founding part of Blackfern and closely attached to Perdita. So when ultimately Nocte Immortalem failed and the houses turned against one another, Soleil was devastated to find Perdita slain by Oyema, the archdemon of Darkhold Cult. Current Day

Nowadays Soleil has let himself fade into the shadows, his history unknown to many. He is considered a part of House Dzemael due to their descendance from his mortal family's bloodline, however due to the fact that it was discovered that Soleil has a demon bound to his soul to give him immortality, he is essentially a black sheep of the house and much of his mention in their ancestry books is erased. However Soleil cares little about this, living his life mostly in solitude. On the edges of Ishgard in the Brume he runs a small apothecary and tarot shop called Night Bloom. It is in the little green house off the back of the shop that he grows a collection of rare and exotic plants, his favorite hobby. Often he will turn them into potent potions and salves to sell.

Somewhat recently Soleil was approached by Nana and Jochi Kagon, two young vampires seeking information about the old Nocte Immortalem. Willingly Soleil told them most of its tail, and warning them of wits downfall. It seemed this young couple wished to ressurect Nocte Immortalem and its houses once more, however this time on a mission of peace. Reminded of Perdita and her dreams of such things Soleil felt obligated to give them his blessing and his assistance with rebuilding the union. And so once more he has been drawn into this group, though as an advisor rather than a part of Blackfern. He has hopes to see the Kagons succeed in their goals with NI, but he silently remains trepid and unsure. Only time will tell what happens.
