Dexter Barnett, or "Dex" for short, was part of a scientist group that had been performing chemically based experiment in a bunker-type laboratory underground.
One fateful day, Dexter accidentally knocked over a few specific vials and solutions, which discolored his hand in horrific ways.
First, they tried to fix it. But the more it spread, the more fascinated the other scientists became with this mutation. Dexter ended up as thier lab rat instead. Injecting him with more of that specific mixture til he mutated beyond recognition into a monster. Eventually snapping and breaking out of his containment chamber. Severely injuring and killing a few people in the process. As they fled they left him all alone inside the laboratory. Dexter however learned to live with this situation. Continuing to stay, and find a cure for himself.

Despite of this rough past, Dexter isn't actually the aggressive type. If you were to talk to him, he'd be kind of distant and mean, but he wouldn't try to harm you if you don't have intent to harm him either. Under all of that anger, there's still a human under it that had to undergo a lot of trauma and is just scared of being hurt again.
In reality if he truly trusts you, he'd get a little flustered if shown genuine affection. Not having known what a hug felt like in many years.

LIKES
- - Dexter prefers the quiet. Loud noises are irritating.
- - He sometimes performs small silly experiments, like watching what kind of combination and fluids can create cool or fun reactions.
- - He's got alot of books that he rereads several times. They never seem to get boring.

DISLIKES
- - He really doesn't like looking at himself. Most mirrors in the facility are smashed.
- - Loud noises are a no go. His ears are kinda sensitive.
- - Everything has to be relatively clean. He absolutely cannot concentrate in a messy environment.
- - He can't stand people staring at him like this. He fears they'll just dehumanize him and call him a monster like in the past.
TRIVIA
- - Dexter has difficulty breathing without his mask. However he's still able to. He only breaks out in violent coughing or wheezing when he runs or has to yell. Which he luckily does not have to do so often.
- - He wears metallic stabilizer boots, because forcibly developing digitigrade legs will severely fuck up your joints and balance.
- - His right hand is a proesthetic due to a lab incident where he accidentally injected himself with something that would've poisoned him if it reached further, so he had to amputate it.
- - Autistic. Hyperfixes on studies and such staying up til ungodly hours for it.
