Profile
Rin'ya, Paladin of Glory, Folk Hero
"Every calamity is to be overcome by endurance."
Rin'ya is a mild mannered Swiftstride Paladin. At first glance one might mind them a general everyday-man, but on deeper look one might notice the strength and endurance the Paladin posesses. They are incredibly fit and strong, as well as knowledgeable in everyday affairs when it comes to simple village maintaining businesses. You can ask them to repair your shoes for you, they shall do it with a wide smile plastered on their spotted face.
Rin'ya left on their journey a while ago, after being called to their path by their Patron God. They feel as though they have a deeper purpose in existence than what their humble beginnings let them believe. Armed with an old passed down longsword from their home village's swordsmith and just their wits, they've set on their journey to find thier true place in the world. Their true people and their true legacy.
Travelling by themselves has never been an easy feat, especially with Rin'ya's endlessly giving nature. They tend to get taken advantage of, regardless of if they realize it themselves. They seem almost completely content with giving away their last silver coins and even shoes off of their paws to people who are brave enough to ask. A world-smart companion to accompany their naivé travels would do them a world of good.

Personality
Genuine
While Rin'ya seems to sometimes be lost in who they are and what they actually want, they make a great effort to be their most sincere and genuine self to everyone around them. This makes them appear trustworthy and a worthy companion to travel with.
Overly-Empathetic
While Rin'ya is greatly empathetic to suffering others, they can sometimes feel overbearingly so. They tend to take other people's suffering on as their own. This can make them feel overbearing and sometimes even performative.
Approachable
Having grown up around the working class and not unfamiliar to hard work in the slightest, Rin'ya is a very softly and approachable person. They are generally understanding and easy to talk to and tend to listen more than talk. Townsfolk feel at ease with their presence.
Naivé
Rin'ya tries to see good in everything and everyone, often to an intimidating extent. This makes them seem outwardly naivé, as they tend to believe sob stories even from conmen. Their ability to understand others can go a little too far.
Generous
Not only as a part of Rin'ya's oath, Rin'ya has always been exceptionally giving. They have a heavy heart for the suffering and blight of others and go out of their way to give from what little they have for others to have. This includes material posessions and money. They claim this hardens one's soul.
Altruistic
Rin'ya's entire existence is fully connected to how useful they are to others. They would and will lay their entire existence on the line for other people, sometimes for reasons that simply are not good enough. They can be self sacrificing and quick to act without thinking for their own longevity.

Summary
"Rin'ya."
Rin'ya was discovered as a baby by a small mountainside village by an older cobbler woman. Their village consisted entirely of humans, she was not expecting to see a baby with fluffy ears and tail, even less so just placed in the snow. The baby was simply swaddled in an old blanket, with one word letter attached to the blanket. All the note said "Rin'ya". The old cobbler woman held the baby in her arms and took the little thing to her husbnad in their humble little home. They had not the heart to leave such a defenseless creature by itself, so they chose to raise the baby as their own.
"Animal."
The human village never fully adapted to having a creature different from them living with them. Despite the best attempts of Rin'ya's parents, they weren't raising their odd child with the correct mindset. Rin'ya's mother saw her child's plight and taught them early on, that to be accepted and loved, they would have to make themselves as useful to the people of the village as they ever could. Rin'ya took this advice to heart. They made their best efforts to make friends with the other children of the snowy village, but were bullied and ostrichized due to their differing appearance and behaviour.
Worst form of bullying came in the form of locking Rin'ya inside a chest by the innkeeper's children. They were left in the small, dark, confined space for hours on end. Despite their calling out, their parents did not find them until night had fallen. This left Rin'ya petrified of small and confined spaces. The cobbler family did not want to start feuding with the innkeeper's family, so the matter was never spoken of between the parents of the two families. Instead, Rin'ya defended themselves against the bullying the only way they knew how- by fighting back. After scratching one of the storeowner's children's cheeks and drawing blood, the villagers grew even more tired and vicious towards the child that did not belong. The old cobbler couple was mortified of this turnout of events.
"Worker."
Rin'ya's parents managed to avoid having their child exalted of their village by promising their work to everyone within the village. Initially suspicious, the villagers grew to realize just how powerful the young shifter was. They were a perfect extra hand for bodily tasks. Despite their young age, they were put to work every day. At the stables, shops, at the inn. Never allowed to play or interact with people, even outside of the town, Rin'ya learned to keep their head down and mouth shut. As long as they worked, people did not pay her much mind in the negative sense. That felt as good as it could get, when it came to their existence. The cobblers taught Rin'ya the way of shoe-making, but moved them to sleep on the hayloft of their stables. Rin'ya grew up in relative solitude... But they had time to read, alone in their quiet hayloft nest.
And read Rin'ya did. Every waking moment they were not helping in the village, they read. The village's library was quite small, and the inquisitive youth had quickly devoured all there was to know within their close-minded confides. Their heart called for adventure- for something bigger. Surely, life could not be just sulking away from everything and everyone. Their life would change after a prothetic dream one late night. Chosen child of Ilmatar, to be a great Paladin, with a party to change the world.
"Blessed Warrior."
Rin'ya wasted no time in leaving their village behind. They were granted an old longsword by the retired blacksmith. Despite how they'd been treated, they were grateful of the gift and set up on their way to find their true belonging.
