The Sun

The Sun is one of the stars in our Galaxy and the only star in the Solar System.

The effective temperature of the Sun's surface is 5780 Kelvin. Therefore, the Sun can shine with almost white light, but the direct light of the Sun at the surface of our planet acquires a certain yellow tint due to stronger scattering and absorption of the short-wave part of the spectrum.

In a clear sky, together with the blue scattered light from the sky, sunlight again gives white illumination.
