Josephine

Josephine (or Josie for short) is what you might describe as a strong character. She's been running the town's Apothecary shop for longer than most can remember, and she can tell you a juicy morsel of gossip about just about anyone who walks through its doors. She's passionate about her work, with a strong interest in both perfecting old potion recipes and discovering new ones. She holds ingredients in stock that you wouldn't find anywhere else unless you journeyed all the way to Murad, and she takes great pride in this fact. As a secondary source of income, she's the landlady to two apartments in the upstairs of the building.

A secondary passion for her is the various magical creatures that call Pinede their home. She breeds a type of slime that's docile and smaller than their wild counterparts, which she says are perfect as a family pet, despite the trail they tend to leave. Josie herself has a pet pixie, who flits about the Apothecary shop, occasionally harassing customers but mostly just keeping to itself.

She has a son, named Azurite, whom she is supremely proud of. He was an only child, and as such she doted on him growing up, and continues to embarrass him in a loving way to this day. She's very proud of the fact he's the local greengrocer, and is very vocal about it. She has a habit of worrying about him as if he's a child when in reality he's in his 50s now.

Another point worth mentioning is the fact that she's also quite fond of making candy in her kitchen for festive events in town, and she gives out free cures to people if she happens to not do quite a good enough job cleaning out the remnants of a be-pinkening potion before setting up her cauldron to make candies...
