Aiken is a rogue and hunter who is loyal to friends, stubborn, and completely jaded about life. He is always seems so distant and keeps his emotions hidden. He doesn't even cry when the dog dies in the movie. He's often pessimistic and horribly blunt, but he does enjoy discussing topics in depth. He'll never raise his voice, unless someone screws up very badly. Due to trust issues, he refuses to accept help from others and works alone.
Aiken is a survivalist and does perfectly fine on his own in the wild. He makes his own tools, builds his own shelters, and hunts and gathers for his own meals. He dislikes wasting resources and will use as much of an animal as possible. If he can't, he'll leave the rest for other creatures.
His ultimate weakness is when people are really polite and say "please" and "thank you." He's an absolute sucker for people with manners. He has some hidden depths from his past and can be prim n' proper if he wanted. He will scold others for chewing with their mouths open. His handwriting is clean and beautiful - more than one would expect of someone like him.
Aiken is a super taster, so his ability to taste food is completely off. It makes him unfortunately picky with some foods and flavors. He really hates dark coffee and judges people who use too much seasoning. He can't handle sweets. He also has a scary preference for blood and raw meat, because the taste is more distinct to him.
Aiken's real name has long since been lost over the years - drowned out by all the rumors and inaccurate information about him. There are very few who have heard of his real name but will not dare speak of it. He prefers to keep it that way. He's commonly known as the "Slasher of Seir'kuhmyll," or "Slasher of Seir" for short, by the outside world.
His fellow acquaintances and friends, however, simply know him as "Birdbug" and, very rarely, "Chicken."
Because of his past, Aiken has a great dislike for royalty and anything related to it. He avoids interacting with royalty in general.
"Life is cruel and unfair. Things happen to those who don't deserve it, and those who do deserve it get nothing at all. In the end, it doesn't matter. We'll all have the same exact fate: death."
Design Notes
- Aiken's markings and hair don't have to be 100% accurate!
- He can be drawn without braids; his natural hair is very wild, long, and messy.
- The colorful pattern on his cloak can be a single color instead - often tan or cream.
- His cloak actually exists to cover most of his design and make him easier to draw. lol
- In anthro and Human, his left eyebrow is white.
- He can be drawn with colorful feathers in his hair!
Trivia
- Aiken is only known by his nicknames to others, commonly "Birdbug."
- His weapon of choice is the bow and arrow or a simple dagger.
- He has a habit of chewing on feathers. (Probably not sanitary.)
- He is really good at making birdcalls and uses it to distract people.

- he tends to grip his forearm really hard when stressing out (it's why he wears the gloves)

Aiken doesn’t have a home, because he’s constantly moving locations to avoid being caught. He lives outdoors and sets up his own campsites. He sometimes stays at Kaius and Beau’s place.
There is very little known about Aiken's past; he appears to hold many secrets and has no intentions to reveal them. He is currently branded as a war criminal, and there is a massive bounty on his head. Everybody is out to get him...but are the accusations true? Those who get to know him would think that he seems innocent...enough.
There are plenty of rumors from the kingdoms that reach the surrounding country and even the most obscure of ears.
They claim that he murdered families - wives and children. He's a cold-hearted and manipulative serial killer.
They claim that he murdered the royal family of a kingdom far away. A family that he had once served under.
They claim that he inspired a rebellion. He attempted to overthrow the king and queen out of a desire for power.
They claim that he is the son of a royal knight and that he fled out of cowardice, not wanting to participate in the war.
Some even say that he was royalty - a runaway prince from a beautiful land that is now a wasteland.
Perhaps nobody will ever know of his past - even after he dies.
It would take a particularly persistent soul to pry out his secrets...
...or maybe some acts of kindness would be enough to coax him into opening up.
Descendant of the Alestrai royal family and queen of a kingdom. Aiken has never met the Queen in person, but, as she constantly sends her own men after him, he has come to assume the worst of her. He knows nothing of what she's actually like behind the hired hands, and it's tragic...
Read more...After Aiken escaped execution, his ex-kingdom quickly spread word of a fleeing, wanted criminal. He was labelled as a threat to all royalty once he was free, as the people began to fear that he would begin to assassinate other royalty. The word travelled far, as otherworldly royalty also began to send men to assist in the hunt for Aiken. Saphira was one of them.
Aiken is loyal towards Kaius and Beau.
Read more...After Aiken was heavily injured by headhunters one day, he managed to barely escape and found himself wandering into a small, quiet town. Thinking the worst, he found a dark alleyway to safely pass out in, only to later wake up in bed in a house he wasn't familiar with.
Kaius and Beau helped Aiken hide from the headhunters while he recovered from his wounds. He believes that he owes his life to them and does whatever work he can for them when he's staying at their place.
Aiken is loyal towards Beau and listens to nearly every one of his requests. He often finds himself helping Beau test some new weaponry out in the field with Valkur or ends up becoming the test dummy at times, but he takes it in stride and doesn't complain. Injuries are bound to happen, but he feels it's better than being hunted to death. He doesn't mind at all that Beau is apparently a vampire. It's not that big of a deal...at least from his own experience.

Aiken already had a pretty low opinion on angels as a whole and originally didn't know what to think of the Seraph. He used to actively avoid the angel and speak to him as little as possible. Nowadays, they've bonded over little things here and there, and Aiken doesn't fear him as much as he used to. He feels that he can tolerate this angel for once. Plus, the Seraph has been nothing but nice and polite to him.

Aiken's friend and one of the few mercenaries who isn't out to take his head. Most of the time, they seem to be at odds with eachother and constantly throw insults back and forth. Aiken tends to nitpick Valkur's lack of manners and brutal methods, often telling him to eat slower or sit up straight. Other times, they seem to get along just fine. When it comes to a battle, however, Aiken is more than willing to side with Valkur and aid him. They avoid sharing a room whenever they stay at Kaius and Beau's house.
