Enid was born in the Marshlands tribe to her single mother, Thicket. Thicket had always been rather sickly, having been born with Feronia’s curse. This curse also affects Enid, though not intensely as it did her mother.
When Enid’s mother died, she moved to live with her uncle, aunt, and cousin. This was the family she spent most of her life with, becoming intensely close with her cousin. The two of them were inseparable, being each other’s best friends.
