Personality wise, Lawrence can come off as cold hearted and an asshole, but his upbringing wasn’t really the best. He doesn’t really have any family and ran away from the orphanage at 13. He didn’t have anywhere to go or any family to stay with. He just wandered the streets and survived. He managed to run into a certain Octoling named Min-Jong. Min being a deserter and Lawrence being homeless, they both helped each other out. Min managed to use money she got performing tricks on the streets and used it for a turf kit. She later used that money to help out Lawrence and both started to earn decent money to keep a stable enough income to get by. Both earned good enough money to stay in a decent place.

Now in turf wars, Lawrence felt something for it and stuck with it and got better. He had a knack for it and actually made a reputation for himself. Now this looks good and all, but Lawrence felt power and wanted more. He eventually ditched the beginner weapon and picked up the splattershot pro. From there he really started to dominate matches along with Min. 2 squids actually joined both Min and Lawrence to form a team and cause they wanted to be popular and be carried. Lawrence didn't really care. He just needed them to enter the big leagues. His team REALLY started to get attention. Lawrence only cared about being the best though. This actually concerned Min cause she was the one looking after him. She has approached him about the matter and he's always claimed to be fine and that he hasn't forgotten his promise.

The team was eventually approached by some individual that wanted to sponsor his team. Min voted for it cause it would help them in terms of income. Lawrence again didn't care, but he was going to be supplied with what ever he needed for his matches. Over the course of time they did make it to the leagues in turf and their final match was against Anne's team. Now normally Lawrence never really acknowledges other teams or even opponents. Something about Anne and her team seemed to really annoy him. Anne's team was really care free and looked like they were having "fun". HOW did a team like that get to the top? Lawrence actually put all his effort into crushing them. Lawrence's team won and he exchanged words with the Leviathan Pirate's captain. He basically told her that her methods will never get her victory and her poor skills as captain is the reason why her team lost. Poor girl was actually a bit taken back by this while Lawrence kept his title as champ for two years.

For those two years Lawrence got what he wanted and was recognized for his power. The sponsor did have a strange condition for Lawrence and his team though. They were not allowed to lose at all. AT ALL. This was strange to Min, but Lawrence felt confident to fulfill that condition without any issues. The two years pass by and the official turf league has begun. Lawrence’s team is the defending champs of course. The challenger? The Leviathan Pirates!! Lawrence is actually disappointed in this turn of events that he thinks it’s an easy game. The problem though. Lawrence hasn’t been practicing at all with his team and Min has been pushing for it, but he kept brushing it off. This match led to a loss due to his own ego. Anne and her team have been practicing with their weapons and team synchronization for 2 years! Her team gave Lawrence’s a run for their gold!

Lawrence couldn’t register what had happened and ended up kicking the other two Inklings off his team in retaliation for the loss. When the news of the new champions spread, Lawrence was approached by a representer of his “sponsor”. They said since he lost, their sponsor needed compensation for all that was provided for him. Lawrence didn’t have the money to repay them, so they told him they’ll just take something valuable of his then and left. Lawrence, now concerned over what they meant, went back to his apartment. Upon arrival he found the door was forced open. He went in cautiously and found the whole place ran sacked. He quickly searched the whole place and grabbed his phone and tried to contact Min. No response. He tried again and again, still no response. He then got a call from an anonymous number. He knew what this meant. He answered the call and a voice told him he had only a few days to repay what he owes. Otherwise he'll slowly start getting pieces of his dear friend once he goes past the due date. This left Lawrence in a state of panic as he desperately thought up ways to get the money. This was basically a set up for failure and Min was gonna die. He needed to get her back. He didn't really know anyone though or even know where to begin to even get help. If he tried this mission alone, it would only be suicide and Min was guaranteed to die. Desperate, he went to the only other strong player he knew. It was a risk, but he needed all the help he could get. He went to find Anne and asked her if she knew anyone who could help him on this important mission to get Min back. Anne volunteered to help him and with some arguing back and fourth, he accepted it. Anne wasn't dumb though, she knew the two of them weren't enough and went to a rival of hers who might have knowledge on rescue missions or have some type of experience in this. Both went to ask Teuta for help, with her being an ex soldier of Octavio's. So it was set. 3 team captains infiltrating a hideout to retrieve Lawrence's friend and get out. It was Teuta who scoped the area where Lawrence would meet the guy who would provide him with the supplies for turf leagues. She was able to find leads that would take them to the hideout where they were keeping Min. Each had their own weapon in hand just in case things went south. Anne and Lawrence were able to sneak in while Teuta provided a distraction by dawning her old armor and talking to some thugs about the army being interested in making a weapons type deal with the gang. Meanwhile Anne and Lawrence were able to find Min shackled to a wall and guarded by two other thugs. Min did look a little roughed up, which angered Lawrence and made him leap from his spot and attack the thugs. Anne quickly came to his aid and took both thugs out. Unfortunately this alerted the whole hideout and blew Teuta's cover. She was able to take out the thugs she was distracting though and forced her way in to make a clear path for Anne, Lawrence, and Min to get through.

Just as things were looking good, more thugs showed up, along with the boss. Lawrence and Anne get to fighting for their lives as Teuta makes her way to fight the boss. (Debating on whether he'll be a hammerhead or and Urchin) Teuta is actually struggling and leaves an opening for a sharp object being stuck in her side. As Anne calls out to Teuta, seeing her now hurt, she tries to push her way through to get to her, but there as still some thugs left over, making it hard for her. As things are looking bad and the boss holding his weapon over Teuta, He suddenly feels a hard hit to the side of his face, which send him stumbling back a bit. Min now stands in front of Teuta, eyes focused and fists clenched. "Since my friend is here with me, there is no need to hold back. You will pay for what you have done to him and my fellow Octarian" She takes her stance as the boss rushes at her, full of rage. She uses his weight against him and flings him into some of this thugs. She then waits for him to come at her again and avoids an arm thrust, wrapping on arm around his, while the other punches down on his arm, dislocating it. As the boss cries out is pain, Teuta runs in and slides into his legs, making him fall forward into Min's knee thrusted into his face. With everyone taken out. Lawrence takes a moment to embrace Min in a hug and apologize to her for not listening and everything he has done. He turns to Anne and tries to apologize to her too, but is quickly cut off with Anne telling them they need to get Teuta some help.

Teuta does make it and gets patched up. Lawrence makes his apology to Anne and her team and starts fresh with turfing career alongside Min. He also super owes a favor to Teuta. Lawrence does get better and learns to appreciate his team more and becomes sponsored by the Toni Kensa company. He and Min end up recruiting two Octolings as their perm teammates and even gets an Octo tattoo on his body to prove his appreciation.
